The GIZ Jordan Project “Water Sector Governance” is seeking to hire a Water and Sanitation Advisor – Focus: WEFE Nexus Organizational Development based in Jordan- for full-time base employment.
This role will involve collaboration with MOPIC, providing critical insights and support in anchoring WEFE Nexus governance.
Qualifications and specialist knowledge
- BSc in Public Administration, Organisational Development, Data Management, Engineering (Water, Energy etc.) or related field.
- Relevant trainings in nexus related fields or multi stakeholder management or organizational development can be advantageous.
- At least 5 years of experience in the fields of Organisational Development including capacity building and institutional strengthening preferably in the Energy, Water, Food, or Environmental Sectors.
- Proven experience in one of the following sectors: Energy, Water, Food and/or with a focus on the interconnections between these areas.
- 2 years of experience in advocating for integrated approaches, policy development and policy coherence across sectors, strategic planning, and governance frameworks related to the WEFE Nexus.
- Excellent knowledge in writing reports and using excel sheets (English and Arabic).
- Excellent communication and cooperation skills, outgoing, constructive, positive attitude
- Fluent written and oral knowledge of Arabic and English.
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
- Ability to cope with dynamic situation of cooperation system in development field
- Team player/ability to cooperate with others.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the anchoring WEFE Nexus governance, through capacitating MOPIC in its neutral coordinator role and other WEFE Nexus stakeholders in their respective roles.
- Support in creating WEFE Nexus shared vision, and clarifying processes, mandates and responsibilities.
- Support in revising and aligning sectoral strategies fostering resource efficiency.
- Support in developing and applying specialized Nexus modelling and monitoring tools based on KPIs such as the Nexus Impact Assessment (NIA) Toolkit.
- Support the implementation of monitoring and reporting instruments.
- Coordinate with project partners including professional national and international networks, academia, NGOs, and civil society.
- Prepare project documents, terms of reference, presentations, and outreach mate-rial including media materials as per the requirements of GIZ.
- Support knowledge management and M&E for the project.
- Hold meetings, seminars / workshops, and preparing minutes of meetings with stakeholders.
- Coordination with teams of Output 1,2,3, and 5 (GIZ staff and consulting)
