JOB SUMMARY:
The Partnerships Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting International Medical Corps’ (IMC) partnership management in Jordan. Working closely with the Sub-Awards and Partnership team at headquarters, the officer will help build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, ensure effective capacity-sharing initiatives, and facilitate coordination and collaboration. This position is responsible for sub-awards, and will ensure compliance with financial and administrative requirements, donor specific requirements and make recommendations for improvements. This role will support the achievement of IMC’s programmatic goals through partnership management.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
Partnership Development & Facilitation
- Assist in identifying and assessing potential partnerships with local national NGOs.
- Support the development and implementation of partnership strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Assist with monitoring partner performance, providing technical support and resolving issues related to partnership management.
Capacity Building and Partner Support
- Support the operations team in conducting capacity assessments of local partners and developing tailored capacity-building plans.
- Provide technical support to partners by disseminating strategies and training/learning materials produced by IMC, ensuring alignment with IMC and donor standards, best practices, and requirements.
- Improve sub-grantees' staff capacity to manage their grants, including overall financial management and compliance with donor regulations through on-site, ongoing accompaniment and mentoring.
Award and Sub-Award Management
- Serve as the principal point of contact on sub-grants management and compliance issues at field level.
- Monitor all sub-agreements assigned and ensure compliance with Compliance Manuals and donor financial rules and regulations.
- Assist in the drafting and follow-up of sub-award agreements in collaboration with internal departments, ensuring timely completion of all necessary processes.
- Support the monitoring and tracking of sub grantee activities to ensure they align with work plans and budgets.
- Work with relevant teams to ensure sub grantee's financial and narrative reporting are accurate, on time, and compliant with donor guidelines. Provide direct technical support in all aspects of financial management to IMC sub-recipients.
- Ensure the integrity of sub grantees' financial reporting and the effective control of financial and material assets.
- Support the program operations team to ensure that performance on individual awards is tracked effectively, risks and issues are flagged and action taken as appropriate.
- Support the completion of internal reports, compiling partner data, and ensuring effective reporting to donors.
- Conduct internal Control Assessments and Site Visits.
- Prepare site visit reports on internal controls, procurement, human resource management, asset management, and budget utilization of partners. Reports will contain site findings.

- Give opinion on adequacy of sub-grantees' internal controls, compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Documentation and Reporting
- Document all partner interactions and agreements, ensuring records are stored in IMC’s internal systems for future reference.
- Prepare monthly progress reports, track action points, and follow up with relevant teams to ensure completion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in International Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in partnership management, working with local NGOs or managing grants.
- Strong understanding of donor requirements and compliance (e.g., USAID, ECHO, FCDO).
- Proven ability to conduct partner assessments, monitor performance, and provide capacity-building support.
- Experience in developing and managing partnership proposals and agreements.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively in multicultural teams.
- Fluency in English required; fluency in Arabic is an asset.
