Responsibilities and Services

1. · The Psychiatrist is expected to provide psychiatric services in IMC clinics.

2.The Psychiatrist will attend to all cases referred by other agencies and provide psychiatric consultation.

3. When indicated, the Psychiatrist will provide temporary coverage in other IMC clinics. ·

4.The Psychiatrist will strictly comply with the professional ethics and principles as well as clinical standards of mental health practices under Jordanian and International Standards established by WHO and MoH. ·

5.Ensure Assessments and treatment regimens are consistent with ICD 10 and DSM-5. ·

6.Provide clinically appropriate follow-ups for cases with MH disorders as required based on individual case issues. ·

7.Record all cases are seen in the psychiatric logbooks during each clinic session. ·

8.Contribute to the case management file, including assessments and treatment plan. ·

9.Contributes to Providing clear, concrete and measurable goals and objectives for each case served. ·

10.Ensure proper and accurate recording of prescription and dispensing of Psychotropic medications. ·

11.Contributes to the ongoing training and continues the education of the case management team. ·

12.Supports the case management team in monitoring and following up with patients in emergency cases. ·

13.Participates in meetings and clinical case conferences at least once per month, or as needed, with the mental health/case management team. ·

14.Assist in the facilitation of psychiatric inpatient admissions when clinically indicated.

15. Prepare case reports and follow up updates when required. ·

16.To have the ability to obtain a license for the International Medical Corps mental health clinic (Azraq and Zaatari camps) in which he works and to follow up on all procedures related to the clinic's registration with the Jordanian Ministry of Health and/or the renewal of its annual license.

 

 Training and education responsibilities:

 1· Review and ensure appropriateness of educational modules, updating materials as needed to meet specific needs of trainee groups.

2· Prepare and deliver training sessions on identification and management of priority mental health conditions to general health staff, following WHO MH GAP Intervention Guide (MH GAP-IG) in coordination with national authorities and IMC Technical Unit.

3· Introducing MH GAP-IG to participants, familiarizing them with its components and supporting their navigation through it in daily practice. ·

4.Monitor trainee performance and progress during educational sessions and online distance-learning process, ensuring proper completion of knowledge assessments before and after training. ·

5.Analyze and interpret results of pre/post knowledge assessments, providing online and individual support and supervision to trainees in their daily practice. ·

6.Ensure access to WHO essential psychotropic medications for all trainees and collect and report all relevant mental health project data. ·

7.Implement projects in line with IMC and global MHPSS standards and guidelines, closely coordinating with MHPSS director for development and review of training materials, documentation, and reports. ·

8.Support in any other relevant training-related responsibilities assigned by the MHPSS director

 

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in psychiatry

experience in providing supervision and training sessions.

 experience with NGOs working in the humanitarian or development field.

 Fluency in English, spoken and written.

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with people inside and outside of the organization, and to manage working relationships diplomatically.

 Capable of providing IMC with a license.
