SOS Children's Villages Jordan is a national non-profit organization established in 1983 to provide alternative care for children and youth who lack parental care or are at risk of losing it.

What distinguishes our care model is providing integrated care for children and youth, by covering all their needs inclding care, accommodation, education and skills, protection and social inclusion, food security, physical health, livelihood, and social and emotional wellbeing. The Association is guided by the UN Guidelines for the Alternative Care for Children and the Convention on the Rights of the Child issued by the United Nations. Why we need you?

We are seeking a Senior Consultant to lead the development of a comprehensive concept note for a women-centered Uniform Clothing Sewing Workshop. The workshop aims to promote women’s economic empowerment by providing dignified employment opportunities, technical skills development, and income generation, while producing high-quality uniforms. The consultant will ensure the concept note is practical, market-driven, and ready for internal approval and partner engagement.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 15–20 years in fashion design, garment production, or product development.
  • Proven experience in leading design and production from concept to implementation.
  • Project management, people management, and production planning experience.
  • Market research, pricing, and cost analysis experience for garment or product-based initiatives.
  • Experience in concept note writing or project design for development/livelihood projects is an asset.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of garment production workflows, fabrics, quality standards, and branding.
  • Ability to translate technical and creative inputs into structured written concepts.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs within set timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop a full, implementation-ready concept note for the Uniform Clothing Sewing Workshop with a focus on women’s economic empowerment.
  2. Define project goals, objectives, target groups, and expected outcomes, highlighting social and economic impact on women.
  3. Design production and operational models, including types of uniforms, design-to-production workflow, quality control, and branding.
  4. Define staffing structure, roles, responsibilities, productivity assumptions, and management functions.
  5. Conduct market and competitor analysis to assess demand, pricing, and positioning.
  6. Develop detailed cost and financial analysis, including equipment, materials, staffing, and operational costs.
  7. Propose a financial sustainability model, including break-even analysis and growth pathways.
  8. Integrate design, branding, and product development perspectives to ensure market-responsive products.
  9. Provide practical implementation recommendations for project rollout.

Deliverables

  1. One comprehensive concept note ready for donor and partner standards.
  2. Embedded staffing and operational framework.
  3. Integrated cost analysis.

Duration

  1. Short-term service contract: 1 month.
