Senior Structural Engineer

Job Summary:

Qualified structural design engineer who can lead the structural design and the project management activities for construction projects. He will be involved in ensuring projects meet technical standards and timelines. Previous experience in working with the design teams in consulting engineering companies is an asset.

Essential Job Functions:

• Plan the design process of structural engineering projects, lead and participate in the structural design activities and participate as member of the design teams of different projects.
• Supervising groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers.
• Liaise with other discipline leaders, project managers, vendors, contractors, and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for use in preparing concept, preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarifications and solutions during construction.
• Committing to and maintaining project timelines according to the projects’ plans.
• The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents is required (strong organizational skills)
• Preparation of technical studies, concept designs and design review reports.
• Preparation and/or verification of design drawings and calculations
• Preparation and/or verification of procurement activities and deliverables
• Prepare purchase requisition, review technical content of supplier bids and technical submissions
• Perform any required inspections as necessary for procurement of material.
• Monitor project schedule and budgets within your area of responsibility and report status on a regular basis

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and master’s degree in engineering is highly preferred
• 10+ years’ experience in structural engineering and other engineering projects.
• Previous experience in the preparation of structural design and in the design of the structural designs for Buildings and Infrastructure projects. Previous experience through working with Consulting Engineering companies is preferred.
• Must have strong computer skills and in using specialized engineering design Software (familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, MathCAD, Structural Analysis Software such as STAAD, SFrame, RISA, LPILE and/or transmission line design software PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole & Tower, SAGSEC and CAISSON etc...)
• Strong leadership, communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills are required. Candidate must effectively work as part of the multidiscipline design team and provide leadership and guidance to the team.
• Must be able to work independently and with others on multiple projects.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
