Relief Jordan is a country branch of Islamic Relief Worldwide. Islamic Relief Worldwide is an internationally recognized charity, looking back on nearly 40 years of experience in humanitarian and developmental aid. It was founded in 1984 in Birmingham, UK, in response to the devastating famine in the Horn of Africa. Since then, Islamic Relief has grown into a charity that is active worldwide, putting development projects, emergency aid, and rebuilding projects into action in over 28 countries around the world.
Islamic Relief Jordan (IRJ) began its operations in 1997 with orphan’s sponsorship, sponsoring hundreds of orphans living in Jordan. IRJ extended its programs to seasonal projects with Ramadan and Qurbani distributions and In-Kind donations. IRJ has established strong partnership with international non-governmental organization and local one’s strengthening the overall response to the Syria crisis. At the onset of Syria humanitarian crisis in late 2011, IRJ provided emergency response to those affected by violence in Syria and has since then scaled up its capacity and operations with number of 70 staff across the country.
The health department has successfully introduced interventions in multi-component projects providing primary, secondary and tertiary health care services. The department also provides medical assistive equipment, health awareness sessions, and dialysis support

Islamic Relief Jordan country office is seeking to hire the following position:
Major Responsibilities:
The Project Assistant will be responsible for:
- Identify and plan RHs home visits and organization of workflow.
- Provide awareness on filling the Disability Assessment Form to the suppliers
- Ensuring well-organized and safe filing for the project’s files and data.
- Make sure that all assessments are entered into the system 100% accurately.
- Conduct home visits for rightsholders upon request and follow up with beneficiaries for feedback.
- Make analysis including figures, statistics, and reporting as per the project manager’s request
- Responsible to distribute the medical assistive equipment in line with donor and Islamic Relief policy.
- Conduct administrative, logistical, and financial duties related to all aspects of project implementation.
- Maintain effectively communication system and ensure information flow between project and relevant parties.
- Support the project team to reach targeted beneficiaries.
- Submit weekly, and monthly reports.
- Ability to manage financial and cash requirements for the project.
- Keep track of all activities and ensure that all activities are in line with plans, in order to meet up with deadlines.
- Ensure the accuracy of information provided to the line manager.
- Ability to write quality reports and submit on time
- Establish a network with NGOs and CBOs.
- Fulfil any other tasks appointed by the project officer.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE
Technical skills and experience:
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Proven expertise and understanding of emergency preparedness and response issues with relevant technical competence in emergency needs assessment and implementation.
- Good field experience in emergency and development programme management, preferably with non-government organizations.
- The ability to remain calm while dealing with conflicting priorities and working under pressure.
- Proficiency in computer skills is highly required especially MS. Word and Excel.
Core humanitarian competencies:
- Understanding of humanitarian contexts and principles:
- Good understanding of humanitarian issues, with experience of/or ability to work directly with local NGOs or communities.
- Understanding of humanitarian standards
Developing and maintaining relationships:
- Very good verbal and written communications skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds.
- Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field of knowledge (business administration, sociology, medical background)
- Minimum one-year experience in NGOs or medical associations.
Languages:
- Very good spoken and written English
- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic
