Your Opportunity As a Carriers Network Engineer you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the technical infrastructure that supports our carrier interconnections and telecom operations.
This includes overseeing Points of Presence (PoPs), provisioning resources such as DID numbers and internet connectivity, and ensuring uptime and reliability.
The Carriers Network Engineer will also play a critical role in automating deployments, monitoring systems, and ensuring adherence to telecom compliance and security standards.
They are the key technical liaison between Maqsam and its carrier partners, ensuring infrastructure setups align with business and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities Set up, manage, and optimize Maqsam's Points of Presence (PoPs) and carrier interconnections across the region to ensure high availability and performance Provision and configure telecom resources including DID numbers, call routing, and coordinate Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) setups for clients Monitor network performance and carrier interconnections, troubleshoot issues such as latency, packet loss, and service disruptions Ensure compliance with local telecom regulations and implement security measures to prevent unauthorized access and fraud Coordinate technical onboarding of new carriers and 3rd party providers, including validation, integration testing, and production deployment Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for infrastructure setups, interconnection protocols, and troubleshooting procedures Provide reporting and tracing activities for network operations and act as technical liaison between Maqsam and carrier partners Act as Level 3 technical support for connectivity and carriers related matters faced by our clients Who We’re Looking For Required: 3+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably in telecom or carrier environments Strong understanding and experience of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP), TCP/IP, and carrier interconnections Strong experience working in Unix-based environments (Linux and FreeBSD) Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools (Git, version control workflows) Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation tasks Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible.
Knowledge of network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies Understanding of telecom compliance requirements and security best practices Strong documentation skills and ability to create clear technical guides Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts Collaborative attitude and strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams Preferred: Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Oracle Cloud and others) Experience with on-premise infrastructure including colocation facilities and bare-metal server deployments Experience with observability and monitoring platforms (Prometheus, Grafana and Loki) Understanding of telecom fraud prevention and security measures What We Provide you Join a world-class team at Maqsam , where your growth is our priority.
