Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Overall job purpose
The HR Officer supports the effective delivery of HR functions across the Middle East Office in coordination with the Finance, HR & Administration Coordinator. The role ensures consistent implementation of HR policies and compliance with organizational standards, donor requirements, and local labor laws. It supports recruitment, onboarding, and contract management, while maintaining accurate and confidential HR records. The position also contributes to HR reporting, budget monitoring, and workforce planning. Additionally, the HR Officer provides day-to-day HR support to staff and liaises with country offices.

Tasks
Strategy and Vision

Specific tasks and job responsibilities:
Human Resource Management
- maintains personnel files and ensures they are complete, up-to-date, and auditable
- maintains a clear record of staff leave days, absences, benefits (per diem), overtime, and coordinates with finance and program teams for accurate payroll preparation
- introduce new staff members to Johanniter procedures, regulations and SOPs
- maintains open communication channels with staff on HR policies, staff satisfaction, and provides feedback to Senior Management
- assists in staff appraisals and performance management processes
- contributes to the review and implementation of national staff policies and ensures compliance across the office.
- ensures consistency of HR practices across Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon offices
