General practitioner with Primary health care experience
MAIN TASKS AND Responsibilities

- Assess, diagnose, treat, and/or admit patients through comprehensive review of medical history, physical examination, and evaluation of current health status Monitor patients’ conditions and clinical progress, reassessing and modifying treatment plans as required
- Request, perform, interpret, and rationally analyze laboratory investigations and diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnosis and treatment decisions.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and evaluate clinical findings, laboratory results, and imaging studies to guide patient management.
- Assess patients to determine the need for advanced procedures or specialist interventions, and prioritize management within the camp healthcare capacity versus referral outside the camp, according to established referral protocols.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, disease prognosis, and expected outcomes, while promoting patient understanding and informed decision-making.
- Refer patients to appropriate medical specialists or healthcare practitioners when necessary and participate in ambulance escorts when required.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical records, official health documents, reports, and certifications in accordance with organizational and legal requirements.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, collaborating closely with specialists, referral physicians, emergency room doctors, surgeons, nurses, and other General Practitioners to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Provide clinical support, guidance, and technical advice to colleagues and healthcare staff across departments and teams.
- Accurately document patient consultations, diagnoses, treatments, interventions, referrals, and follow-up plans in the designated health information systems.
- Undertake associated administrative and reporting duties as required.
- Ensure rational prescribing practices in accordance with the camp Essential Drug List (EDL), and provide appropriate medical justification for exceptional or non-standard treatments when indicated.
- Ensure proper use, disinfection, sterilization, and maintenance of medical equipment and materials under their responsibility, while maintaining compliance with infection prevention and control (IPC) and hygiene standards.
- Participate in training and capacity-building activities for medical and paramedical staff when requested, to support continuous improvement in quality of care.
- Adhere to and implement all health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including disease outbreak reporting, Health Information System (HIS) reporting, referral pathways, and public health protocols.
