JOB SUMMARY:
The Pharmacist Assistant supports pharmacy services within the PHC program at Azraq Refugee Camp by assisting in medication dispensing, stock management, pharmacy organization, and record keeping. The role ensures the safe and rational use of medications in accordance with organizational policies, medical protocols, and quality standards.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES:
- Organize and maintain the pharmacy according to IMC policies and pharmaceutical standards, ensuring proper storage, labeling, cleanliness, and stock arrangement of medicines and medical supplies.
- Dispense medications accurately according to physicians’ prescriptions and provide patients with clear verbal and written instructions on medication use, dosage, and storage.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation, including prescription files, stock cards, drug distribution logs, consumption reports, and medication request forms.
- Prepare regular medication orders based on consumption trends and minimum stock levels, in coordination with the warehouse and supervising pharmacist.
- Conduct regular stock counts and inventory checks, monitor expiry dates, and ensure implementation of FEFO/FIFO principles to prevent stock shortages and wastage.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for medications and report expired, damaged, or missing items according to organizational procedures.
- Verify prescription completeness and report any discrepancies or concerns to the supervising pharmacist or physician.
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, warehouse staff, and other healthcare workers to support integrated and quality patient care.
- Participate in trainings and continuous professional development activities as requested by supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control (IPC) standards, pharmacy regulations, organizational SOPs, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with administrative and operational tasks related to pharmacy services as required.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor in line with operational needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- BA Degree in Pharmacy
- Minimum 1 years of experience
- NGO Experience is preferred
