Job Summary: The CDM Smith International Development Group is seeking a motivated and capable junior civil engineer preferably to support the planning, design and procurement of the National Conveyor Project (NCP) Readiness Infrastructure and other large size water and wastewater infrastructure projects for Jordan. The successful candidate will assist in matters related to design and procurement of water infrastructure and gain hands-on experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
*The selected candidate will be embedded full-time at the client’s office within the National Conveyor Project Management Unit (NCPMU), part of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation (MWI).*
Key Job responsibilities:
• Assist in Reviewing and commenting on engineering and drafting submittals related to project construction and coordination with existing utilities’ owners.
• Use of CAD software to integrate information from numerous sources identifying conflicts, coordination areas and generating drawings.
• assist in the preparation of administrative and technical reports,
• Engage with other NCP readiness projects, and WAJ related tender documents .
• Participate in site assessments and field investigations to gather data for design and modeling purposes.
• provide assistance in the planning, design, and procurement of water infrastructure and gain hands-on experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate with relevant authorities and stakeholders to collect the required data.
• Work closely with senior MWI and CDM Smith project staff to support overall project delivery.
• Participate in internal and external meetings and contribute to presentations and documentation.
Drafting and design:
• Prepare 2D technical drawings and layouts for water and wastewater infrastructure (pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, etc.) using CAD/Civil 3D software
• Coordinate with engineers and other drafters to ensure drawings are accurate, consistent, and aligned with project requirements.
• Review design drawings and plans prepared by subcontractors to ensure alignment with project requirements .
Project Support and Documentation
• Maintain accurate records of all drafting and activities and ensure compliance with internal documentation standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in water/wastewater infrastructure design, particularly pipelines and/or reservoirs.
- Prior experience working at a multinational organization or with local, regional and engineering firms.
- proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and GIS applications for design, drafting, and spatial analysis.
- Basic understanding with industry codes and standards, including Jordanian regulations. .
- Strong understanding of water distribution and wastewater collection system design principles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Team player, self-starter and able to work independently and comfortable with a dynamic environment.
- proficiency in Microsoft software (excel, word, etc.).
- Registered and accredited in Jordanian engineers Association.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to details.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic.
