<p><b>Action Against Hunger (ACF)</b> Action Against Hunger is a leading humanitarian and development agency working to combat the causes of hunger and malnutrition in over 46 countries worldwide. Eleven years into the Syrian conflict, more than 1.3 million Syrians have sought refuge in Jordan. This influx of refugees has strained Jordan's economy and resources, with Syrians often accepting worse working conditions and lower compensation than Jordanians and taking on low-skill, informal jobs in sectors such as in manufacturing, construction and agriculture. In 2022, Jordan had a 23% unemployment rate. For Syrian refugees, unemployment rates are significantly worse with 80% of Syrian refugees unemployed in 2021, up from 50% and 65% in 2019 and 2020. </p><p>Action Against Hunger has been operational in Jordan since 2014, delivering livelihoods, social protection WASH and MHPSS programming in Irbid, Zarqa, Mafraq, and Madaba governorates. Through its livelihoods and social protection program, ACF aims to improve the livelihoods status of Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians through decent and sustainable employment opportunities; strengthening sustainable livelihoods and value chains and enhancing the capacity of local actors to promote economic opportunities and improve working conditions. So far, ACF has reached over 6,000 beneficiaries through its social protection and livelihood activities in 2022. Action Against Hunger is also an active member of the Livelihoods, Basic Needs, Food Security and Durable Solutions Working Groups; Graduation Approach and Vocational Training Taskforces; and Common Cash Facility Steering Committee.</p><p><b>ACF</b> is looking for its program in Jordan for<b> Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Project Assistant.</b></p><p><b>Main place of work:</b> Madaba Governorate - Waleh Dam</p><p><b>Position Overview: </b>The Project Assistant will play a key role in supporting the implementation of infrastructure and watershed management projects focused on erosion control, water retention structures, and Cash-for-Work (CfW) activities. Under the supervision of the Field Supervisor and Project Manager, the Project Assistant will support technical activities, community engagement, and field monitoring while ensuring compliance with engineering, safety, and environmental standards. The role will also involve coordinating with stakeholders, supporting data collection, and ensuring smooth communication between project teams and the local community.</p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><p><br></p><p><b>1) Cash for Work (CfW) Supervision and Work safety </b></p><p>· Monitor the participation and performance of CfW workers, ensuring fair work distribution and compliance with contract terms.</p><p>· Support in the follow-up and communication with the beneficiaries, contacting the beneficiaries and collecting the required documents.</p><p>· Support in the contracting process.</p><p>· Responsible for the archiving of the beneficiary lists and cash for worker files and documents with Action Against Hunger and cooperatives.</p><p>· Support to provide the documentation needed for social security registration and work permit application, and support in the process when needed.</p><p>· Ensure coherence of collected information</p><p>· Participate in the technical survey data collection in support of the MEAL team if needed</p><p>· Ensure workers are properly trained on OSH standards, including correct use of PPE and safe construction practices.</p><p>· Address and report any on-site safety concerns, ensuring accident prevention measures in place.</p><p>· Coordinate with the administration team to track attendance, payments, and work hours for CfW beneficiaries</p><p>· Support the grievance and feedback mechanism for CfW workers, ensuring their concerns are addressed professionally and in the protective equipment to beneficiaries</p><p><br></p><p><b>2) Provide technical support in the field </b></p><p>· Check technical designs and drawings . </p><p>· Assist in supervising gabion structures construction and other physical interventions, ensuring adhere to technical specifications, environmental safeguards, and quality control measures. </p><p>· Oversee the day-to-day progress of construction sites, identifying potential delays or quality concern and reporting to the Field Supervisor and Project Manager. </p><p>· Ensure Cash for Work (CfW) workers follow approved construction techniques, proper use of materials, and OSH standards. </p><p>· Maintain on-site presence, assisting with troubleshooting construction challenges, adjusting implementation plans as needed (in coordination with the field supervisor) and ensuring smooth workflow</p><p>· Document work progress, material usage, and structural integrity, and share report with the project team</p><p>· Oversee quality control for the material on site . </p><p>· Assists in preparation and implementation of the Project. </p><p>· Apply the standard processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments as well as making sure that all of the workers are following the safety procedures . </p><p>· Receive the concerns of the cash for workers related to the work site/safety and transfer them to the Field supervisor.</p><p>· Any other duties as agreed with the supervisor. </p><p><br></p><p><b>3) Stakeholder Coordination and Community Engagement</b></p><p>· Upon Field supervisor delegation, provide the required explanations and updates on Action Against Hunger implementations and objectives and activities to the local communities</p><p>· Serve as a bridge between the project team and the local communities, ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and alignment with local priorities. </p><p>· Support community awareness-raising and engagement activities related to sedimentation control, water management, and flood mitigation, encouraging local participation in sustainability efforts. </p><p>· Work closely with local municipalities, CBOS, and water authorities to ensure smooth collaboration and proper documentation of construction activities. </p><p>· Represent the project at community meetings, providing updates on activities, addressing inquiries, and building trust with stakeholders.</p><p><br></p><p><b>4) Data Collection, Documentation and Reporting</b></p><p>· Assist in technical data collection for CfW and project activities </p><p>· Document on-site challenges, lessons learned, and best practices, ensuring detailed records for reporting and future programming. </p><p>· Support MEAL team in conducting surveys, assessments, and evaluations to measure the project impact</p><p>· Contribute to weekly and monthly progress reports, summarizing CfW participation, construction updates, and field observations.</p><p><br></p><p><b>5) Logistics, Procurement, and Resource Management </b></p><p>· Assist in tracking construction materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper use and accountability. </p><p>· Support the procurement team by verifying material specification, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring availability of essential resources at work sites </p><p>· Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent waste and
