Org. Setting and Reporting<br>UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees. S/he will oversee efficient transport operations are provided in support to the Field Office operations. • Supervisees: Manages a large team of general support staff.<br> Responsibilities<br>• Plans, controls and coordinates the allocation, operating schedule and other use of Agency vehicles and drivers in a cost effective and rational manner; • Monitors and executes ERP and agency fleet management systems (Feetwave, Fleetlog) to ensure efficient and up to date record keeping and efficient use of the Fleet is maintained; • Ensures the care, custody, cleanliness, safety and effective utilization of Agency vehicles and fuel is maintained. Enforces vehicle movement discipline, undertakes spot checks to ensure compliance with the agency standards instructions, damage reporting, and safety breaches have been correctly reported and investigated; Prepares investigation reports, manages losses, mishandling and damages involving Agency vehicles as well as dealing with insurance agents and prepares survey reports as and when required; • Prepares and maintains accurate records in relation to drivers’ responsibility, travel subsistence and other allowances. Administers the issue of transport permits for home/office home transport in coordination with other departments as necessary. Ensures all charges for home/office/private transport are accounted for and coordinates with Finance to recover charges from Staff Members as necessary; • Plans and obtains vehicles licensing, and ensures that all Agency drivers are licensed to drive assigned vehicles. <p>In addition to content creation, this position extends to assisting with graphic design projects. The scope of these projects is broad and diverse, encompassing the creation of engaging content for all social media channels, editing and retouching images, resizing artwork, and devising new artwork solutions. The responsibilities also include crafting campaign creatives, social media artwork, and performing photo editing tasks.</p>
<p>The role demands a vigilant stewardship of the brands involved, particularly Marriott Hotels & Resorts and Sheraton. The As Salt project aims to establish a training centre for the restoration of heritage buildings, training local residents on restoration skills to preserve their heritage, revive their buildings and repurpose them. </p><br> <p>As-Salt is home of thousands of heritage buildings, with a magnificent architectural character that tells the city’s rich history and connects its owners with their ancestors. Today, these buildings, once vibrant and full of life, have fallen into disrepair due to neglect, lack of awareness about their importance and a shortage of restoration specialist and high maintenance costs. About 70% of them are dilapidated and abandoned, posing a threat to residents and visitors. The project will transform the urban heritage of As Salt into a sustainable economic, social and cultural engine. By establishing the Heritage Building Restoration Training at the Beit Falah Al Hamad Heritage site, the city will be leading an integrated model that will create skills to create local and regional job opportunities. The project will also work with the owners of heritage buildings, providing legal support, financial incentives and technical support, connecting them with the new graduates. The project will also work to project a new image for the city to attract tourism, culture and investment in partnership with city society and the private sector, including banks and microfinance institutions.</p><br> <p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><br> <p>The <strong>Project Coordinator </strong>will perform the following functions:</p><br> <p><strong>A. Setting and Reporting<br>In its resolution 72/279 of 31 May 2018, the General Assembly created a dedicated, impartial empowered and sustainable development-focused coordination function for the United Nations development system, drawing on the expertise and assets of all United Nations development system entities, including specialized and non-resident agencies. The Resident Coordinator system ensures the coordination of all organizations of the United Nations dealing with operational activities for development at the country level, regardless of the nature of their presence in the country. It encompasses the UN Resident Coordinator, the UN Country Team and Resident Coordinator's Office and is served by the UN Development Coordination Office. In line with this General Assembly mandate, the Resident Coordinator (RC) is the highest ranking representative of the United Nations development system (UNDS) at the country level, with the responsibility to lead United Nations country teams, and ensure system-wide accountability on the ground – including through a matrixed dual reporting model - for the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and coordinating UN support to countries in their implementation of the 2030 Agenda. <p>Mission and objectives</p><p>UNICEF was established in 1946 to supply emergency relief to millions of children suffering in the aftermath of World War II. The organization still functions to ease the suffering of millions of children in emergency situations across the world. UNICEF also focuses on the protection and promotion of child rights, working for the survival, protection, education and healthy development of every child.</p><p><br></p><p>UNICEF has worked in Jordan since 1952 to promote and protect the rights of children. In the following decades, significant progress has been achieved for children. Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2013, UNICEF has significantly increased its operation to respond to the challenges faced by both refugee children and those in the communities where they live.</p><p><br></p><p>Building on the lessons learned from this emergency response, UNICEF Jordan moved to a vulnerability approach in 2018 - supporting interventions that target the most vulnerable children in the country, regardless of their nationality.</p><p>Context</p><p>UNICEF Jordan Country Office (JCO) is currently in the fourth year of its Country Programme Cycle (2023–2027), a period marked by continuous efforts to support targeted interventions and mainstreaming in gender equality and adolescent girl empowerment across programming and institutional work. Org. Setting and Reporting<br>The position is located in the Procurement Unit of the Mission Support Component of OSESGY. The incumbent will be based in Amman, Jordan and will report to the Chief of Unit, Procurement.<br> Responsibilities<br>The Procurement Assistant assists in the implementation of effective and efficient management and delivery of procurement of goods and services and sale activities required by the mission to fulfil its mandate and carry out the procurement work in an effective, efficient, economical and timely manner. Within the limits of delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for performing the following duties: • Provides procurement, logistical and administrative support to a team of Procurement Officers in the acquisition of a wide variety of goods and services. • Reviews, records and prioritizes purchasing requests and obtains additional information/documentation as required; determines the availability of vendors and funding sources. • Monitors status of existing requisitions, maintains contact with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services, coordinates shipment of goods/commodities/equipment to HQ and field missions, verifies receipt and inspection of deliverables and accurately reports, as and if required. • Produces tender documents (e.g. Invitations to Bids, Requests for Proposals and Requests for Quotation) based on the nature of requirements and cost of procurement involved. • Prepares abstracts of offers and compiles data contained in quotations, proposals and bids to determine which supplier can deliver the required goods/services at the best terms and lowest costs possible under the guidance of Procurement Officers. • Finalizes purchase orders and contracts for approval by the Procurement Officer; if required, prepares submission to the Contracts Committee for review and subsequent approval by the authorized official. • Assists relevant officers in more complex, higher value purchasing operations; coordinates distribution of pertinent documents to concerned parties, ensures appropriate follow-up action, etc. • Maintains relevant internal databases and files; keeps track of any contractual agreements, systems contracts, etc. and informs affected users of contractual rights and obligations. • Researches, retrieves and presents information from a variety of internal and external sources on sources of supply, vendors by commodity, etc., as well as obtain specifications for new products and equipment on the market. • Drafts routine correspondence. • Performs other duties as assigned.<br> Competencies<br>Professionalism: Extensive knowledge of all purchasing and accounting techniques.
