Activity Description

The Informal Livelihoods Advancement Activity (Iqlaa) aims to strengthen the resilience of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in Jordan by enhancing their managerial capacities and improving their access to business opportunities, financial products, and services. Central to Iqlaa’s strategy is its commitment to an evidence-based approach, underpinned by a streamlined research management framework. This ensures that findings are effectively disseminated, translated into actionable recommendations, and developed into accessible resources. By adopting this approach, Iqlaa aims to drive impactful and sustainable interventions for MSEs and key ecosystem actors, at both the enterprise and market levels.

Iqlaa has conducted extensive research and analysis on Jordan’s micro and small enterprise (MSE) ecosystem, including sectoral studies, ecosystem assessments, and the development of governorate-level profiles. Building on this body of evidence, Iqlaa aims to consolidate key insights into an online MSE Geographic Map.

The online MSE Geographic Map will visualize sectoral distributions, geographic concentrations of MSE activity, ecosystem actors, and development opportunities across Jordan’s governorates. The platform will serve as an accessible evidence-based tool to support policymakers, development partners, and market actors in understanding local economic dynamics and identifying opportunities for targeted interventions and exploring spatial patterns, trends, and relationships across integrated datasets to inform planning, policy development, and operational decision-making.

The MSE Geographic Map will be developed as an interactive web-based system integrated within the selected entity’s website environment to ensure long-term institutional ownership and sustainability. In parallel, structured datasets generated through the map will be shared with the CVDB Observatory (Tanmieh Tool) under the Ministry of Interior to support broader economic planning and observatory functions.

Through this approach, the MSE Geographic Map will support improved coordination among ecosystem actors, facilitate data-driven planning and analysis, and contribute to strengthening the MSE ecosystem across Jordan.

POSITION SUMMARY
Our jobs aren’t just about mixing drinks. Instead, we want to build an experience that is memorable and unique. Our bartenders have the basics down, but are constantly on the look-out for new trends, micro-local offerings, and guests’ evolving needs. They are not just a beverage enthusiast, but also the host of the space. Their role goes beyond the bar itself to take ownership of guest service more broadly and do what needs to be done. Bartenders will use their knowledge and expertise to make the bar look and function flawlessly. They will build relationships with others across the hotel and in the community, to anticipate and deliver on our guests’ needs. They should be passionate about the guest service experience, but also have an eye for detail – from the money that moves through their hands, to the information they provide to guests, to the quality of their drinks.
No matter what position you are in, there are a few things that are critical to success – creating a safe workplace, following company policies and procedures, protecting company assets, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring your uniform and personal appearance are professional. Bartenders will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time) and taking a hands-on approach to their work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping). Doing all these things well (and other reasonable job duties as requested) is critical for Bartenders – to get it right for our guests and our business each and every time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
License or Certification: None
At Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all and providing access to opportunity. Our greatest strength lies in the rich blend of culture, talent, and experiences of our associates. We are committed to non-discrimination on any protected basis, including disability, veteran status, or other basis protected by applicable law.
The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, with over 120 properties in more than 35 countries, offers the promise of authentic experiences that evoke lasting, treasured memories. Our more than 100 years of experience, beginning in 1906 under the Italian CIGA brand – a collection of Europe's most celebrated and iconic properties – serves as a solid foundation as we continuously evolve to exceed the desires of the luxury traveler.
From legendary palaces and remote retreats to timeless modern classics, each luxury hotel and resort is a unique and cherished expression of its locale – a portal to the destination’s cultural charms and treasures. If you are someone with an appreciation for evocative storytelling, a keen interest and passion for this destination's heritage, and a desire to deliver genuine, personalized, and anticipatory hospitality, then we invite you on our journey.
