Description

Please submit your CV in English and indicate your level of English proficiency.

Mindrift connects specialists with project-based AI opportunities for leading tech companies, focused on testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems. Participation is project-based, not permanent employment.

What this opportunity involves

We're building a dataset to evaluate AI coding agents - how well a model handles real-world developer tasks.

You'll create challenging tasks and evaluation criteria within realistic simulated environments:

Build realistic developer environments - a virtual company with codebase, infrastructure, and context (tickets, docs, conversations) that forms a believable development history

Design tasks from intermediate states of these environments - craft the prompt, define what "solved" means, and ensure the task is solvable by an AI agent

Write tests that verify agent solutions - accept all valid approaches and reject incorrect ones, neither too strict nor too lenient

Iterate on tasks and tests based on QA feedback - review agent solutions, analyze failures, and refine until the evaluation is fair and robust

What this is not

Not data labeling

Not prompt engineering

Not writing code from scratch - the agent writes most of the code; you guide and evaluate

What we look for

5+ years in software development

Core stack: Python (FastAPI), JavaScript/TypeScript (React), Docker, Postgres, Kafka, Redis

Experience writing tests (functional, integration)

English proficiency - B2+

Why this is hard

Frontier models are already good at coding. Creating a task that genuinely challenges the best models is non-trivial. You need to deeply understand where models fail and what scenarios reveal the difference between a good and a bad solution. Tasks have many valid solutions - writing tests that accept all correct solutions and reject incorrect ones is harder than it sounds.

How it works

Apply ? Pass qualification(s) ? Join a project ? Complete tasks ? Get paid

Effort estimate

Tasks for this project are estimated to take 20 hours to complete, depending on complexity. This is an estimate and not a schedule requirement; you choose when and how to work. Tasks must be submitted by the deadline and meet the listed acceptance criteria to be accepted.

Compensation

Up to $50/hr equivalent, depending on level and pace.
Office/unit/project description

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Programme in Jordan aims to enhance the nation's inclusivity and resilience to achieve its national priorities, aligned with the 2030 Agenda. The Jordan Country Office focuses on key priorities, including governance and peace, inclusive growth and sustainable livelihoods, environment, renewable energy, climate change, financing for development, and SDG impact.

Regarding the significant challenge posed by financing for development, the 2015 Addis Ababa Action Agenda emphasized the importance of holistic approaches to financing national strategies. In response, UNDP launched Financing for Development (FfD) portfolios which include initiatives in partnership with both governmental and private stakeholders to align public and private capital flows with national development priorities and to mobilize the necessary financing for large-scale development impacts.

In an effort to build a coherent sustainable finance architecture, UNDP leverages its technical expertise and convening power to support the deployment of an Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) in Jordan. This government-led process unites government entities, the private sector, and development cooperation partners in devising a strategy to finance national development. To inform this strategy with data and analyses of the financing landscape, UNDP Jordan already conducted a Development Finance Assessment and complementary thematic studies. Building on these efforts, the country office is now deploying a FfD portfolio to further support the government in developing an INFF roadmap anchored with the priorities of Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision (EMV).

With its FfD portfolio, the country office is seeking to effectively leverage innovative financing and support investments into the green transition. UNDP Jordan is partnering with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) toward an area-based development programme to establish a Jordan Valley Green Economic Corridor. This ambitious initiative is designed to run for over seven years and encompasses a portfolio of development projects aligned with the key components of the EMV.

The Jordan Country Office is seeking to recruit a Programme Analyst (Economist and innovative finance) who will, under the strategic guidance of the Resident Representative (RR) and the direct supervision of the Partnership, Innovation and Business Development Specialist, support in leading the implementation of the Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) and contribute to the further development of the Financing for Development (FfD) portfolio.

Scope of work

The Programme Analyst (Economist and innovative finance) will work under the direct supervision of the Strategy, Innovation, and Business Development Specialist. The Programme Analyst contributes to the development and implementation of UNDP’s economic policies, supporting the government’s efforts towards sustainable and inclusive development. The position requires collaboration with the global policy network and interacting with various stakeholders, including government institutions, the private sector, and civil society to achieve strategic goals.

The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and the organization.

The incumbent will undertake the following to ensure the success of the assignment:

About Youth Grow Activity

Launched in 2023, Youth Grow Activity (YGA) is a five-year US Government (USG)-funded initiative that aims to transform the economic trajectory of Jordan’s youth while strengthening resilient, opportunity-rich local systems to promote long-term stability and security. YGA reflects a growing strategic consensus: youth economic empowerment is no longer just a development objective; it is a tool for socioeconomic prosperity. YGA tackles the root causes of economic exclusion and youth unemployment—key drivers of social unrest, destabilized vulnerable communities, and brain drain and migration. By aligning local and national economic opportunities with shared regional and global strategic interests, YGA leverages economic empowerment as a force to foster resilient partnerships that help co-create future-ready systems.

About Q2IMPACT (QED Group, LLC DBA Q2 Impact)

Q2IMPACT, a QED Group company, brings over 25 years of expertise in data-driven, impact-focused solutions at the intersection of development, diplomacy, and defense. Rooted in this dynamic history, Q2IMPACT leverages cutting-edge technology, data-driven insight, and strategic expertise to tackle today’s most pressing challenges. Evolving with global priorities, Q2IMPACT blends its rich legacy in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation (CLA); data analytics; systems strengthening; and adaptive programming with a renewed focus on strategic relevance, economic growth, and national security. Launched in 2023, Youth Grow Activity (YGA) is a U.S. Government-funded initiative working with national partners in Jordan to help youth build practical skills and connect to income opportunities, leading to stable communities in Jordan by supporting lawful work, productive routines, and positive engagement for youth themselves. The primary beneficiaries of YGA are youth aged 10 to 29. Additionally, YGA engages with key stakeholders including MOY, MODEE, CPF and AQACA, JREEF as well as private sector stakeholders. YGA activities are being implemented across all 12 governorates (Mafraq, Irbid, Ajloun, Jerash, Balqa, Amman, Zarqa, Madaba, Karak, Tafilah, Ma’an, Aqaba). YGA delivers structured upskilling programs, income-generating opportunities, and positive engagement through MOY centers and other national institutions. All of YGA's programs and activities are designed in alignment with Jordan's EMV and built to prepare a youth workforce capable of contributing to national priority sectors, including the National Conveyor Project and Jordan's growing digital economy.
