To prevent soil erosion, they construct-check dams out of gabion baskets, create terraces, construct dry-stone walls and plant seedlings.</p> <p>As a result, the storage capacity of the reservoirs is maintained, safeguarding irrigated agriculture and drinking water in the medium and long term.
