Access to lifesaving services already limited by repeated conflict, political instability, and economic hardship has further declined. In the Gaza Strip, between 7 October 2023 and 1 January 2025, the Gaza Health Ministry reported at least 70,663 Palestinians killed and 171,139 injured as a result of ongoing hostilities, including casualties recorded after the ceasefire that came into effect on 11 October 2025.</p> <p> </p> <p> <u>2)HI background & history</u> </p> <p>HI has been working in Palestine since 1996, initially supporting disability organizations and expanding in 1999 to mine action. Background and Objective In line with Jordan’s commitment to implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and building on the country’s previous Voluntary National Reviews (2017 and 2022), the Office of the Resident Coordinator (RCO) is supporting MoPIC in the finalization of the VNR for 2026. 2. Objectives of the Assignment To support the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) in the designing Jordan’s Third Voluntary National Review (VNR 2026). This includes assisting the Ministry in designing the final report and related communication material in Arabic. 3.
