Introduction:

 

Solidarity Is Global Institute (SIGI) is seeking a Finance Grants Officer for Promoting the Voice and Leadership of Women (Tawazon) Project in Jordan.

Tawazon provides a critical opportunity for a partnership that shares power, authority, commitment, accountability, and resources where Mercy Corps (MC), Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), Al Jidara, Solidarity is Global Institute (SIGI), and Plan International (Plan) will be working together toward advancing women’s rights and empowerment, through a locally driven approach designed and led by Jordanian female voices and grounded in Human Centered Development (HCD) ,and behavioral science to encourage sustainable adoption of positive norms.

 

The purpose of Tawazon Project is to create transformative change to enhance the voice and influence of women by strengthening legislative frameworks, enforcement of those legislations and the enhancement of institutional capacity of stakeholders, increasing the adoption of inclusive social norms, and removing

barriers to women’s participation and leadership.

 

Job Title:  Finance Grants Officer

Work Location:  Amman (with 20 travels required for the governorates)

 

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including but not limited to internal reports and donor financial reports.
  • Prepare year end financial statements to present to the external auditors
  • Work closely with the external and internal auditors
  • Track  expenses, issue payments and prepare all payment and journal vouchers
  • Review  expenses and the supporting documents for all financial transactions and assure adherence with the financial policies and procedures and donor requirements.
  • Prepare a filling system for all financial supporting documents according to the internal policies and procedures in addition to donors’ requirements and maintain updated records.
  • Perform  monthly bank reconciliations and make sure no old outstanding Chq
  • Perform monthly cash count with possibility to make a surprise cash Count
  • Manage all accounts receivable and payable 
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and payable 
  • Prepare monthly individuals’ income tax and social security correspondence 
  • Control and monitor budget line items on a monthly basis, at the same time prepare BVA report in monthly basis
  • Oversee actual monthly, quarterly assessments and forecasts of financial performance against budget
  • Maintain a fixed assets register and create a tool to link existing assets to register
  • Perform a year end count of fixed assets, investigate discrepancies and update register accordingly 
  • Track, design, implement and maintaining a purchasing and disbursement system, ensure that all purchases are approved and within budget
  • Confirm accounting treatments with respect to complex transactions, and specifically addresses any other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance of accounting book and reports with IAS and IFRS
  • Support the fundraising department through working on the budgeting of the proposal, and later on the financial reporting, and liquidation, auditing etc... as per agreement with donors
  • Prepare checks or wire transfer requests based on fully approved documents and present to approved check-signers for review and signature.
