RFQ FOR THE PROVISION OF ACCREDITATION OF NRC’S BETTER LEARNING PROGRAMME (BLP)”

RFQ (Request for Quotation) Notice

“REQUEST FOR QUOTATION FOR THE PROVISION OF ACCREDITATION OF NRC’S BETTER LEARNING PROGRAMME (BLP)”

[RFQ/JO/24/014]

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) established its presence in Jordan in 2012. It has since been addressing basic needs, providing protection, shelter, livelihoods, information, counseling, and legal assistance, and supporting educational and vocational activities for children and youth. The NRC's operations are headquartered in Amman, with additional field offices in Irbid, Mafraq, and the Zaatari and Azraq camps. The organization employs both national and international staff, as well as host community and Syrian refugee volunteers, to deliver its programs effectively.

In 2022, in partnership with the Jordan Ministry of Education (MoE), NRC localized and integrated its global psychosocial support initiative, the Better Learning Programme (BLP). This initiative comprises 11 sessions focused on study skills and psychosocial support to reduce students' stress and enhance their academic performance. NRC collaborated with the MoE Counselling Department through a technical committee to embed BLP activities into the school counselors' curriculum. The program involved training the Heads of Counselling Departments at 42 Directorates of Education (DoE) and subsequently cascading this training to 3,861 school counselors across Jordan.

The BLP aims to equip students with skills to manage stress and improve their educational outcomes by enhancing time management, organizational skills, effective listening, and reading comprehension. The program also supports students' emotional stability and social integration, promoting resilience, healthy relationships, and a safe, engaging learning environment. This comprehensive approach aligns with NRC's child welfare framework, which supports caregivers, teachers, educational counselors, and parents in helping students adapt to their environment.
