Responsibilities Our newest opportunities are Lead Structural Engineer to join our award-winning Design Division based in Amman , Jordan . This position is responsible for leading structural projects and overall scheduling, planning, developing design and specifications and other required documents related to structural design as well as mentoring junior engineers. We envisage success in this role to include; - At CD and/or SD stage, ensure that appropriate alternative structural concepts are proposed and that these have been tested and Value Engineered, and that they comply with all project and code requirements. - Discuss and agree with the Project Principal appropriate analysis modeling strategies and software for use on the project. - Together with the Project Principal, identify requirements for specialist inputs and ensure that these are obtained at appropriate times during the design process, and are incorporated in the structural design, (e.g. wind tunnel, geotechnical/foundation engineering, façade engineering, PT/PS concrete design etc.). - Together with the Project Principal, carry out design reviews at appropriate intervals during the design process. At a minimum, this will be at the end of each design stage. However, interim reviews may be required. - Ensure that structural designs prepared achieve the following minimum criteria: Safe to sustain required loadings; Achieve durability, serviceability and functional requirements; Are reasonably economic, Designed in accordance with international codes. - Ensure that the structural department's QMS is being implemented and that the various engineers assigned to QMS functions are fulfilling these functions effectively. - Monitor departmental project progress, and report to Director of Structural Engineering / Deputy HOD on actual or anticipated time and/or man-hour over-runs. - Recommend to the Director of Structural Engineering / Deputy HOD personnel requirements for projects. - Provide feedback on staff competencies and performance to Director Structural Engineering. - Anticipate and solve technical difficulties for projects which present new challenges to the core experience of the department. - Assist the Director of Structural Engineering / Deputy HOD in maintaining up to date software, codes, standards, design methods, etc and disseminating new information through the department. - Assist the Director Structural Engineering in ensuring a positive professional attitude in the Department's dealings with other design disciplines, clients and other members of the project team. - Perform the role of Project Lead on one or multiple projects.

Qualifications - To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include a minimum of 15 years' post graduation work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles, Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project. - Ability to use structural analysis and design software, including at least one and preferably several of the following: STAAD, ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE, ADAPT, AutoCAD, REVIT, Knowledgeable in concrete and steel structures design. - Experience in Post Tension design is an advantage; with working knowledge in the use of American Design codes. - Member of a recognized Association / Institution of Engineers.
