Background: 

The USAID Jordan Tourism Board Activity (JTBA) aims to improve Jordan’s tourism sector, primarily through supporting the Jordan Tourism Board’s (JTB’s) efforts to strategically position and promote Jordan as a distinctive destination. Further, the JTBA will increase domestic and international tourism to primary and secondary sites, boosting the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and enabling economic growth and job creation across the tourism value chain. JTBA will achieve its objectives in close coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) and local and international partners.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Analyst to join our team. In this full-time role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and refine a comprehensive data management platform tailored to the tourism and hospitality industry. Your insights and analytical skills will play a critical role in driving data-informed decision-making and optimizing platform performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with data scientists, software developers, and industry experts to design and implement a data management platform for the tourism and hospitality sector.
• Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights, identify trends, and provide recommendations for platform enhancements.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across the platform.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and statistical modeling to uncover patterns and inform strategic initiatives.
• Assist in the design and execution of user surveys and feedback mechanisms to gather insights and improve platform functionality.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the platform's capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Proven 5–7-year experience as a Data Analyst, preferably with a focus on tourism and hospitality or similar industries.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, and Excel.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of the tourism and hospitality industry in Jordan is an advantage.
