GENERAL FUNCTION
The Multimedia Content Producer for the “Strengthening Civil Society and Media Systems (Sawt) Activity”, under the supervision of the Communications Manager, will work as part of the Communications Team, and essentially serve as a lead ‘storyteller’ for the project. They will be responsible for producing and/or coordinating the production of multimedia content reated to the Sawt Activity, including written stories, photos, videos, social media content, and other communication materials – as well as gathering informed consent from all subjects, to ensure that individuals understand and are able to choose how their images and/or testimonials will be used. The Multimedia Content Producer will need to be able to work both independently as well as part of a team and produce high-quality multimedia content according to strict deadlines. They may also be asked to support with managing, monitoring, and updating Sawt’s various social media accounts (including capturing key data related to content reach and engagement), and provide capacity-building support to Sawt staff and partners, aimed at improving their own skills in the areas of multimedia production and/or digital storytelling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce a wide variety of multimedia products (including still photos, short videos, social media posts, infographics, fact sheets, and multimedia stories), to highlight Sawt project objectives, activities, successes, and impacts.
- In cases where additional production support may be required (such as specialized video production, video editing, or graphic design, for example), support the media team with the process of identifying and/or directing other consultant multimedia producers, and help guide them through the process of conceptualizing, planning, producing, and/or editing multimedia content and materials for the Sawt project.
- For all photos, videos, and testimonials recorded on behalf of the Sawt project, ensure that informed consent is obtained for all subjects (in either written or verbal form), to ensure individuals understand and choose how their images and/or testimonials may be used – for example, in donor reports, via publicly available online websites, and/or through Sawt social media accounts.
- Create an easy-to-search photo and video library for the Sawt Project.
- Meet regularly with other members of the Communications Team, to discuss project needs in relation to reporting, content development, message creation, and deliverables tracking.
- Support the Sawt team by producing / contributing multimedia content for weekly and quarterly reports, annual plans, newsletters, presentations, social media posts, success stories, press releases, factsheets, and training materials.
- In collaboration with other members of the Communications Team (and with supervision from the Communications Manager), develop multimedia content for Sawt’s online platforms, and support in maintaining, monitoring, and updating Sawt’s online presence – including its webpage and social media accounts. Required support in this area may also include capturing and analyzing key data related to content reach and audience engagement.
- When requested, and under the supervision of the Communications Manager, provide technical production assistance and/or capacity building support to Sawt staff, partners, grantees, supported media outlets, and/or individual fellows, to improve their own multimedia production and digital storytelling skills.
- Conduct regular site visits with Sawt partners and grantees, supported media outlets, and target audiences, to produce multimedia content, conduct interviews, collect testimonials, and develop success stories on behalf of the Sawt project.
- Any other related duties assigned by the supervisor, to ensure program visibility and effective communications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or other related field – OR the equivalent in professional experience, producing multimedia content and digital stories.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in producing multimedia content / digital stories.
- Proven experience in multimedia content production, with technical production skills in the areas of photography, videography, video editing, audio podcast production, and/or graphic design.
- Familiarity with various professional media editing and/or design software programs for photo editing, video editing, audio editing, and/or graphic design – for example, Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, etc., and/or non-Adobe products such as Final Cut Pro, GarageBand, Audacity, Canva, etc.
- Experience working as part of a production team and/or collaborating with other multimedia producers (such as directors, video editors, and/or graphic designers), to conceptualize, plan, produce, and edit multimedia projects.
- Strong digital storytelling skills, with experience in crafting engaging stories for a variety of audiences.
- Experience in managing and/or contributing to online platforms (including websites and/or social media accounts.
- Willingness to share technical skills and knowledge with others, through capacity-building activities.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience working with NGOs and/or donor-funded projects in the same capacity would be considered a distinct advantage.
Skills
- Professional-level fluency in Arabic and English.
- Strong writing and editing skills in both the Arabic and English languages.
- Able to think creatively, work collaboratively as part of a team, supervise the work of other production consultants (as needed), and meet tight production deadlines.
- Excellent inter-personal skills to ensure effective and collegial relations with the media as well as Sawt partners, beneficiaries, and team members.
Ability and permission to work and reside in Jordan without Internews sponsorship.
