This is to announce that Amman delegation has a vacancy for an ICT Specialist at the ICT Department in Amman, Jordan.
An Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Specialist is needed for ICRC's Delegation in Amman - Jordan. The ICT Specialist sets up and monitors small computer and communication infrastructures under the supervision of a qualified superior in the division/region, carry on installations and troubleshooting activities, in addition to providing workplace services and first level user support.
PURPOSE, SCOPE, AND IMPACT
- Information Communications Technology (ICT) Specialist 2 supports all ICT systems and services in ICRC Jordan. Assists the ICT Manager/ ICT Engineer / ICT Specialist2 in designing and installing ICT infrastructure.
- Workplace services and first/second-level user support.
- Standard Installations and troubleshooting.
- Geographical remit: Jordan
RELATIONSHIPS
- Internally, interacts with ICRC employees.
- Externally, interacts with local suppliers.
General Duties:
- Be aware of the delegations’ objectives and activities.
- Understand the three components of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement.
- Always apply the security rules.
- Respect and observe the staff regulations of the ICRC in Jordan.
- The employee may be asked to perform other duties not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when and if necessary.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a part of global support services handles Level 2 tickets or escalates as per agreed workflow.
- Ensures ICT inventory is updated regularly and maintains adequate stock levels.
- Ensures existing ICT infrastructure is functional.
- Ensures that global/country-level policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
- Briefs, advises, and trains end-users on the ICRC's ICT systems.
- Drafts and updates technical documentation for all IT equipment.
- Assist ICT Team in project implementation.
- Provide day-to-day technical support for end-users of desktop applications, telephones, printers, and computer hardware, set up and monitor computer and communication infrastructures (100%).
- Allocates equipment in an efficient manner, considering users' needs and ICRC policies.
- Keeps track of equipment allocations, dispatches equipment and follows up on shipments to and from other ICRC sites.
- Keeps technical documentation up to date for all IT installations when relevant.
- Comply with the ticketing system (Service Now) follow up and handle tickets aligning with the ICRC standards by respecting the KPI’s (Key Performance Indicator) and SLA’s. (Service Level Agreement).
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Bachelors’ degree (Computer Science, computer Engineer, or any other related field).
- Good command (spoken and written) of Arabic and English. French is an asset.
- Good ICT knowledge
- 4 years' troubleshooting experience in an area of the ICT service catalogue (e.g. workplace services, telecommunications, IT, help desk, etc.).
- Microsoft Windows server 2016/2019; Active Directory, GPO, DFS & groups management.
- Networking Fundamentals - Wan/Lan management (VPN, VLAN’s, DNS services, IP addressing and Routing) –CCNA is considered an asset.
- Skype for Business environment and MS Teams.
- Proven record of delivering results and understanding of customer service principles.
- Microsoft Windows 10 & 11, Office 365 and associated Microsoft cloud services.
- Knowledge of VSAT systems, microwave/radio links and wireless applications.
- Ability to provide IT support services including IT hardware/infrastructure support.
- Good understanding on HelpDesk Management - ITIL Foundation is considered an asset.
- Analytical and Problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communications skills and teamworking spirit.
