Position Title: Trade and Marketing Specialist

BACKGROUND
The Jordan Economic Reform Activity Task Order 1 (ERA TO1) is a 5-year, $54 million program funded by USG, which aims to support the Government of Jordan (GOJ) to prioritize and implement economic reforms. Through coordination with the GOJ, the Jordanian and international private sector, other donors, and Jordanian civil society, ERA TO 1 will (1) advance economic reforms, (2) strengthen the business enabling environment, (3) increase exports and local, regional, and international investments, and (4) respond to emerging priorities.
The Trade and Competitiveness Component supports ERA TO1’s mission to strengthen Jordan’s trade ecosystem and boost export competitiveness. The unit focuses on advancing Jordanian exports into untapped, high-growth markets by providing technical assistance to key public and private sector partners (anchor firms).
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Trade and Marketing Specialist will support ERA TO1’s objective to enhance export competitiveness and promotion in Jordan, with an ultimate goal to advance Jordanian exports into untapped, high-growth markets, by providing technical assistance to key public and private sector actors on trade facilitation and marketing approaches.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development, design, and implementation of activities that support trade and export ecosystem strengthening, promoting Jordan export potential. Work closely with trade and export related governmental institutions or other sectoral organizations, associations, chambers, private sector, etc. to support activities implementation, identification of priorities, providing instruments and tools for tracking results and achievements.
- Develop scopes of work (SOWs), manage timelines, and coordinate with consultants, service providers, and internal teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of activities.
- Oversee implementation, follow-up, and provide practical recommendations to address challenges and risks.
- Organize professional meetings, workshops, and engagements to strengthen collaboration.
- Maintain clear and detailed records of project progress, outcomes, and lessons learned for internal and external use.
- Ensure collaboration and coordination, sharing of information, needs, and progress across all functions and components of ERA to implement as one team including but limited to, MEL, Communications, procurement and finance teams and all technical component teams.
- Contribute to and/or lead as assigned pitch decks, brief reports, and analysis for stakeholders.
- Support the Team Lead by contributing to and/or leading as assigned periodic planning documents, progress, and impact reports for USG and other partners.
- Operate with integrity and assurance of confidentiality, commitment to excellence, compliance with all USG rules and regulations, contractual requirements, and Chemonics policies, systems, and values.
- Collaborate in the review and management of continual efficiency improvement recommendations of ERA operations, implementation, analysis, communications, and management teams.
- Manage, utilize, maintain, and monitor AirTable as project management system
- Other tasks as assigned by the Component Lead, Deputy Chief of Party or Chief of Party.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing international trade, or another relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in international trade, export business, and/or marketing.
- Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with Jordan’s export and trade industry, in both the public and private sectors.
- Strong project management skills with experience in managing multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience writing business memos and business analysis are strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with culturally diverse staff.
- Strong Arabic and English communication skills (oral and written).
LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT
The Trade and Marketing Specialist will be based at the project’s office in Amman, Jordan.
