Job Purpose:

 

Islamic Relief Worldwide-Jordan Office is providing support in rehabilitation, renovation, and construction projects around the kingdom, in which the organization is rehabilitating and constructing governmental schools in Al-Mafraq, Irbid, Jerash, and Karak, as well as constructing playing fields in the selected schools, which will also have training and awareness sessions. The organization is also working on construction & rehabilitation projects for housing units in the north of Jordan, alongside other projects.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The candidate is expected to prepare personal hygiene materials for messages and sessions, conduct personal hygiene sessions, supervise the distribution of the hygiene kits, prepare the necessary documents (daily/monthly reports, assessments, and organizational reports), and prepare hygiene kits tender preparation & review to ensure the highest quality and standards, keeping in mind the internal polices of the organization. the candidate will also need to follow up with related stakeholders to coordinate the work and obtain any necessary approvals and finally achieve any given task.

 

Under the supervision of the Project Officer Engineer, Hygiene Promoter duties include: -

  • Conduct participatory hygiene promotion sessions.
  • Train teachers and school staff on hygiene promotion communication techniques.
  • Develop and distribute age-appropriate IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials on related hygiene promotion topics
  • Install hygiene-friendly "nudge" signs to encourage proper WASH facility usage
  • Provide and distribute targeted schools with the required cleaning kits.
  • Develop culturally appropriate hygiene promotion curriculum/material and messages, sessions, and strategies to deliver promotion of appropriate hygienic behaviour in the selected school.
  • Develop hygiene kits distribution/gender and age disaggregated/ list
  • To document the schedule plan, field report, and update to the Project Officer Engineer on time. Ensure the project is implemented based on the approved implementation plan by the donor.
  • Maintain follow-up on the risks that may arise and ensure placing mitigation procedures to avoid any concerns that may affect the project at the field level.
  • Ensure date collection and well-organized and safe filing for the project’s files and data.
  • Conduct the relative need assessments and make sure that all assessments are entered into the system 100% accurately.
  • Conduct administrative, logistical, and financial duties related to all aspects of project implementation.
  • Participate in all programmes’ distributions, including NFI and seasonal projects, according to policies and procedures & as assigned by the line manager.
  • To oversee the support in the relevant documentation and reporting.

 

 

 

 

  • Draft and provide needed inputs for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and ensure timely submission of reports.
  • Coordinate daily activities, including schedule and delivery of activities, and case referrals.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the beneficiaries’ children and team.
  • Provide support for organizing visits, meetings, events, training, and workshops.
  • Provide the required documentation to other departments, especially the MEAL department, and ensure the full documentation for all the projects per IRJ standards.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned or required from time to time by the line manager.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • A bachelor’s degree in public health or any related field with relevant experience.
  • One year of experience in Hygiene promotion / WASH projects.
  • Knowledge of the political situation and cultural norms in Jordan in general is desired.
  • Intermediate spoken and written in English.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • English reporting skills will be an advantage.
