Job Description

Position - Manager Finance & Accounts

Department - Finance & Accounts

Reports To - Head of Finance

Job Summary

The Manager Finance & Accounts is responsible for leading the organizations finance and accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, taxation, treasury management, and internal controls. The role supports the Head of Finance by providing strategic financial insights, driving process improvements, and ensuring efficient financial operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end financial closing.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and the general ledger.
  • Present financial performance reports and recommendations to the Head of Finance and senior management.

Budgeting, Planning & Financial Analysis

  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Monitor budget performance and perform variance analysis.
  • Develop financial models and provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions.
  • Analyze business profitability and recommend initiatives to improve financial performance.

Cost Management

  • Oversee cost accounting and manufacturing cost analysis.
  • Monitor production costs, inventory valuation, and overhead allocation.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and statutory regulations.
  • Review and approve tax returns, statutory filings, and regulatory reports.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS/IAS and company accounting policies.

Treasury & Working Capital Management

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and optimize fund utilization.
  • Maintain banking relationships and oversee treasury activities.

Internal Controls & Audit

  • Develop and strengthen internal control systems and financial governance.
  • Lead internal and external audit engagements and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation measures.

ERP & Process Improvement

  • Drive the effective utilization of ERP systems for finance operations.
  • Lead finance process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain finance policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team.
  • Establish performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Assist the Head of Finance in strategic initiatives, financial planning, and organizational decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory.
  • MBA (Finance), CMA, CPA, or other relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of post-qualification experience as a Chartered Accountant.
  • Experience in manufacturing, textile, apparel, FMCG, or similar industries is preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, treasury, cost accounting, audits, and statutory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) and advanced Microsoft Excel.

Desired Candidate Profile
