It is a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 private IB day school, teaching ages 3 to 19 bilingually in English and Arabic. Job Description
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Primary Education, or a related field (a background in Science, Social Studies, or Curriculum & Instruction is an advantage).
- Is bilingual (Arabic and English) and demonstrates effective translanguaging practices to support conceptual understanding across languages.
- Has experience working with Primary-aged students, preferably within a PYP or inquiry-based learning environment.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of concept-based, inquiry-driven teaching, aligned with the IB PYP framework.
- Shows the ability to design and implement innovative learning experiences that promote student voice, agency, and engagement.
- Is skilled in differentiation, small-group instruction, and responsive teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
- Can collaborate effectively with homeroom and subject teachers to support planning, co-teaching, and targeted student interventions.
- Is confident in using flexible learning spaces (such as the Piazza) to enhance inquiry, collaboration, and meaningful learning.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Working with small groups of upper primary students to support conceptual understanding in:
- UOI-linked Science units for upper primary, and
- Social Studies delivered in Arabic.
- Providing targeted differentiation to cater for diverse student needs.
- Supporting students who benefit from additional guided instruction outside the homeroom setting.
- Actively utilizing the Piazza as a flexible learning space to enhance inquiry, collaboration, and student engagement.
- Collaborating with teachers by:
- Supporting planning,
- Co-teaching or assisting with small-group instruction, and
- Helping implement differentiated tasks where appropriate.
