Job Summary

Main Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Ensure the accuracy and authenticity of all accounting and financial records and transactions.
  • Timely submission of accounting documentation and reports to International Medical Corps Headquarters, and follow-up for needed adjustments.
  • Ensure that financial data is recorded in Cost Point Accounting software on a daily basis.
  • Complete month end cash/bank reconciliation and submit that to HQ along with monthly reports
  • Review and check all payment vouchers
  • Report to International Medical Corps Finance HQ office on day to day requests with the collaboration of direct supervisor.
  • Ensure financial transactions are carried out in accordance with International Medical Corps, Donors and local legislative policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that Income Tax and Social Security related payments have been deposited with Government Treasury in a timely manner
  • Responsible for updating pipelines/BVAs on a monthly basis and coordinate with budget holders to submit updates and meet set deadlines
  • Coordinate with HR department on staff timesheets and prepare key of allocation to different grants/projects on a monthly basis
  • Ensure that allocation of costs across programs are in line with key of allocation
  • Supervise and mentor junior finance staff and committed to staff training and development
  • Assist in preparing budgets including budget realignments, extensions and NCE etc. whenever needed
  • Assist in preparation of donors reports.
  • Ensure timely submission of cash/bank reconciliations including AR/AP analysis and other reports to HQ in a timely manner.
  • Review backup documents of the payments
  • Interaction with banks, Social Security and Tax department and relevant agencies to ensure compliance with varying government regulations when necessary.
  • Maintain open lines of communications with all staff.
  • Establish systems and apply internal controls to prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Ensure that the filing system for the Finance Department (accounting files, vouchers) is up to date.
  • Support the integration of Community Based Feedback Response Mechanism community awareness into the existing program outreach activities.
  • Resolve non-sensitive feedback and complaints collected from project sites that are routed by the Accountability Officer /MEAL team
  • Refer non-sensitive feedback and complaints received about other organization to their respective entities and focal points. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Occasional coverage of Egypt operation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar
  • At least 3 – 5 years of managerial experience in finance with International NGOs
  • Extensive experience in working with Excel and computerized accounting system.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in the English language
  • Analytical approach, Strong attention to details and numbers oriented
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving, planning and decision making skills.
  • Good time management skills and must be able to prioritize different tasks.
