<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <span>At GTECH Information Technology , we deliver enterprise-level digital solutions that combine creativity, technical depth, and flawless execution.<br> From government portals and large-scale websites to immersive event experiences, our team thrives on projects that truly make an impact.<br> We are proud to be named a Great Place to Work in the UAE About the role GTECH builds and maintains a large portfolio of WordPress websites for brands across the Middle East.<br> We're looking for a hands-on WordPress Specialist who can own a website from design to front-end to back-end, turning approved designs into pixel-accurate, responsive WordPress builds, and extending them with custom functionality where needed.<br> Because so much of our work targets the Middle East market, this role requires a native Arabic speaker who can read and write Arabic, you'll be building and testing right-to-left (RTL) layouts, handling Arabic typography, and making sure bilingual (Arabic/English) sites look and read correctly.<br> This is a delivery-focused developer role.<br> You'll work closely with our designers, project managers, and SEO/marketing team to ship clean, fast, secure WordPress sites.<br> Convert approved designs (Figma / Adobe XD / PSD) into responsive, pixel-accurate WordPress themes.<br> Build and customize WordPress themes and child themes , front-end (HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript) and back-end (PHP, WordPress APIs).<br> Develop custom functionality: custom post types, taxonomies, and fields using ACF (Advanced Custom Fields); build or extend custom plugins.<br> Build and maintain Arabic / RTL and bilingual sites, correct RTL layouts, Arabic fonts/typography, and multilingual setups (e.<br>g. WPML / Polylang).<br> Work with page builders where relevant (Elementor, Gutenberg / block editor) and know when to build custom instead.<br> Build and maintain WooCommerce stores where required.<br> Optimize sites for speed, Core Web Vitals, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.<br> Apply WordPress security best practices; keep core, themes, and plugins updated and safe.<br> Handle site migrations, staging-to-live deployments, backups, and basic hosting/DNS tasks.<br> Debug and resolve theme, plugin, and performance issues across the existing site portfolio.<br> Use Git for version control and collaborate with the team on a shared workflow.<br> Coordinate with designers, project managers, and the SEO team so builds are on-brief, on-time, and SEO-friendly.<br> Why Join GTECH?<br> ✨ Be part of a collaborative, curiosity-driven culture.<br> ✨ Recognized as a Great Place to Work in the UAE .<br> ✨ Opportunities to learn, grow, and shape the future of digital experiences.<br> 3–5 years of hands-on WordPress development experience, ideally in an agency or multi-site environment.<br> Native Arabic (read &amp; write) with the ability to build and QA Arabic/RTL and bilingual websites; strong English for team communication.<br> Strong front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript (and jQuery), responsive design.<br> Strong WordPress back-end skills: PHP, MySQL, WordPress theme &amp; plugin APIs, hooks/filters.<br> Hands-on experience with ACF, custom post types, and custom fields.<br> Experience taking a design file and producing a clean, faithful, responsive WordPress build.<br> WooCommerce experience.<br> Familiarity with page builders (Elementor and/or Gutenberg blocks).<br> Understanding of WordPress security, performance optimization, and Core Web Vitals.<br> Comfortable with Git and a collaborative development workflow.<br> Reliable remote worker , self-managing, communicative, and able to hit deadlines.<br> Nice to have Multilingual plugin experience (WPML, Polylang).<br> Basic on-page SEO awareness (clean markup, schema, page speed).<br> Experience with headless WordPress or REST API / custom API work.<br> Familiarity with a broader stack (Node/React or Laravel), useful, but this is a WordPress-first role.<br> Experience with CI/CD or automated deployment tools.<br> A portfolio of live WordPress and Arabic/RTL sites.<br></span> </div>
