Our Mission is to Simplify Life. We simplify and automate complex decision-making for customer-centric industries, including Utilities, Financial Services, Logistics, and Government, that drive the world's economies. We are looking for a technically dominant, operationally rigorous Director of Emerging Technology to lead our EmTech engineering team in Jordan. You will own the full engineering mandate of our Emerging Technology practice, setting the standard for how we architect, build, and deliver solutions across low-code enterprise platforms, microservices, and modern cloud-native stacks. You will lead highly skilled engineers building on complex, production-grade systems. Your technical depth matches theirs: you can engage in deep architectural debates, evaluate trade-offs with precision, and make decisions that hold up under production pressure. Your credibility is built on expertise, not title. Technical mastery is only half the mandate. You are the anchor of the EmTech team , absorbing external complexity and translating it into calm, structured direction. You build a culture of accountability, equitable performance, and consistent delivery excellence, where merit is the only currency. You operate on the same clear sequence: What , then How , then Who . Core Mindset & Traits Technically Credible. You can architect on a whiteboard, debug in a terminal, and evaluate an estimate with the fluency of someone who has shipped for years. Credibility is the foundation of your authority. Mission-Oriented. Driven by outcomes and measurable impact. Pressure Absorber. When urgency hits, your team feels a clear plan and steady direction. Empathetic and Consistent. You invest deeply in your people, and you hold a consistent bar for everyone. Standards apply equally, and fairness is the foundation of trust. Data-Informed. Dashboards, defect rates, and deployment logs: the numbers speak. Operator, Not a Theorist. u200b Forged in live delivery: systems scaled, teams built, deadlines met. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence Hands-on technical oversight across the EmTech portfolio: Mendix (or equivalent), microservices, APIs, cloud-native stacks. Personally engage in architecture reviews, estimates, and technical decisions; ensure honest, rigorous commitments. Drive code quality standards, technical debt management, and design review practices. Lead evaluation and adoption of emerging tech (AI/ML, intelligent automation), separating hype from production-ready capability. Establish engineering KPIs: velocity, defect density, deployment frequency, MTTR. EmTech Team Leadership & Culture Serve as the senior engineering leader for the team, with clarity and full executive backing. Act as the strategic buffer between external pressure and your engineers. Enforce transparent, consistent engineering practices from sprint ceremonies to quarterly reviews. Establish a structured communication cadence with global leadership. Delivery Execution & Performance Management Own delivery accountability across all EmTech programs, on time, on budget, on spec. Implement rigorous delivery governance: sprint discipline, milestone tracking, dependency and risk management. Run data-driven delivery reviews against objective metrics. Address performance gaps with speed and fairness. Performance-First, Equitable Culture Promotions, bonuses, and assignments earned through measurable contribution, never tenure, relationships, or lobbying. Anchor evaluations to objective, documented criteria visible before the review period. Build career development frameworks with clear competency milestones. Ensure diverse technical talent thrives through a system that rewards capability and eliminates favoritism. Engineering Talent Development Mentor and develop engineering leads and senior engineers into the next generation of technical leaders. Ensure every engineer has clarity on scope, priorities, and growth trajectory.

About Lucidya

Lucidya is an AI-native platform for customer experience (CX) intelligence that manages entire customer lifecycles autonomously, from initial engagement through retention and growth.

Unlike platforms that only surface insights and leave the action to you, Lucidya completes the loop with proprietary NLU capabilities developed entirely in-house and trained on millions of multilingual conversations, equipping marketing, support, CX, and research teams to deliver personalized experiences that drive measurable improvements in customer satisfaction, retention, and lifetime value.

Why this role matters

At Lucidya, we are building products that help some of the region's most recognizable brands understand and engage with their customers at scale. As our platform grows, so does the complexity of the problems we solve.

Great product ideas are easy. Turning them into products that customers actually use, engineers can confidently build, and the business can successfully launch is much harder.

That's where this role comes in.

As a Product Owner, you'll sit at the center of product delivery. You'll be responsible for turning customer problems, product strategy, and business priorities into clear, actionable work that engineering and design teams can execute with confidence.

Your impact won't be measured by how many Jira tickets you create. It will be measured by how effectively you help the team build the right things, reduce delivery friction, avoid costly rework, and deliver meaningful value to customers faster.

You'll work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, QA, and customer-facing teams to ensure everyone understands the problem we're solving, why it matters, and what success looks like.

If you enjoy bringing structure to ambiguity, asking great questions, and helping teams move faster without sacrificing quality, you'll thrive here.

What you'll do

Create clarity where others see complexity

You'll take customer feedback, business requests, product strategy, and technical requirements and transform them into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and requirements that teams can confidently build from.

Own squad readiness

You'll make sure backlog items are ready before they enter development. Engineers shouldn't be discovering major requirements halfway through a sprint. You'll ensure the team has the context, detail, and alignment needed to deliver predictably.

Help the team build the right things

You'll partner closely with Product Managers to break large initiatives into smaller, valuable releases that allow us to learn quickly and deliver customer value faster.

Drive productive collaboration

You'll act as the bridge between product, design, engineering, QA, and customer-facing teams, ensuring everyone is aligned on priorities, scope, dependencies, and expected outcomes.

Challenge unclear thinking

When requirements are vague, assumptions are risky, or priorities don't make sense, you'll ask the hard questions. Respectfully, but confidently.

Reduce delivery friction

You'll identify risks, dependencies, and gaps before they become problems. Your goal is to help the team spend less time clarifying work and more time delivering value.

Protect quality and customer experience

You'll think beyond the happy path by considering edge cases, permissions, error handling, workflows, and usability before features reach customers.

Support successful launches

You'll help ensure internal teams understand what is being released, how it works, and what customers should expect through clear release notes, documentation, and enablement materials.

Requirements

Who you are

You bring structure without creating bureaucracy

You love organization, but you know process should help teams move faster, not slow them down.

You care about outcomes, not ticket completion

Closing a story isn't success. Solving a customer problem is.

You ask great questions

You naturally challenge assumptions, uncover hidden requirements, and identify risks before they become expensive mistakes.

You communicate clearly

You can explain a complex technical requirement to a designer, a customer problem to an engineer, and a product decision to a stakeholder without creating confusion.

You thrive in cross-functional environments

You enjoy working closely with engineers, designers, QA, Product Managers, and customer-facing teams to solve problems collaboratively.

You have strong product delivery experience

You have at least 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Associate Product Manager, or a similar role where you've owned requirements, backlog management, and delivery readiness.

You're comfortable with technical concepts

You don't need to write code, but you're comfortable discussing APIs, integrations, data models, permissions, workflows, and platform behavior with engineering teams.

You're comfortable with ambiguity

You won't always receive perfect requirements or complete information. You're able to create clarity and move things forward without waiting for every answer.

You'll likely stand out if you have experience with:

B2B SaaS products

Customer experience (CX) platforms

Social listening or customer engagement tools

CRM, CDP, analytics, or workflow products

AI-powered products and automation

Arabic-first or MENA-focused products

Product analytics and adoption metrics

What success looks like

Within your first few months:

Backlog items enter development with significantly fewer unanswered questions.

Sprint planning becomes more predictable because work is properly prepared and understood.

Engineers spend less time seeking clarification and more time building.

Rework decreases because requirements, edge cases, and acceptance criteria are defined upfront.

Stakeholders trust delivery updates because expectations, trade-offs, and risks are communicated clearly.

Product releases are smoother because internal teams are prepared and aligned.

Most importantly, customers receive better products because the team consistently understands the problem before building the solution.

What the hiring process will look like

Intro call with TA

Interview with HM

Case study

Presentation interview

Culture fit / offer

At Lucidya, we care deeply about ownership, curiosity, speed, and continuous improvement. We look for people who challenge ideas respectfully, communicate openly, and genuinely care about building products that solve real customer problems.

If that sounds like the environment where you do your best work, we'd love to meet you.

Description

A leading global pharmaceutical company is seeking a Director, Data & Analytics to take ownership of the strategy, architecture, delivery, and operational performance of its Data & Analytics function. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the enterprise data platform, the data products the business relies on, and the team behind them, setting technical direction, delivery standards, and investment priorities while staying personally engaged in key architecture and design decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical credibility with senior leadership experience, and will be directly accountable for making the platform AI-ready, ensuring data is governed, traceable, and model-grade to support regulated AI deployment.

Responsibilities:

1. Platform architecture & engineering leadership:
Own the enterprise data platform, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Databricks lakehouse (Medallion architecture), Power BI, and Unity Catalog, ensuring it is architecturally sound, standardized, reliable, and engineered to scale.
Set and enforce platform engineering standards: ingestion patterns, transformation conventions, Medallion layer contracts, data quality gates, Bronze-to-Gold promotion criteria, and the CI/CD framework that delivers all of it.
Own the Unity Catalog governance model, RBAC, lineage, business glossary, and metric definitions, as the platform-enforced foundation for trusted data.
Drive the platform roadmap from current state to target, sequencing technical debt remediation, new capability build-out, and platform readiness for downstream AI and analytics demand.
Personally lead design reviews and architecture decisions for the platform, engaging directly with the engineering team on complex technical problems where senior technical judgment is required.
Own data platform observability and operational excellence, pipeline reliability, SLA adherence, incident response, and data quality monitoring.

2. Delivery & data products:
Set and enforce delivery standards: sprint cadence, code review, documentation, testing, validation, and release management practices that govern all team output.
Define and own data SLAs to the business, pipeline refresh frequency, availability, and incident response commitments, and ensure delivery is held against them.
Own the data integration roadmap, prioritising ingestion of new source systems into the lake in alignment with business demand and platform readiness.
Manage complex integration challenges across source systems, engaging directly on technical constraints, working with upstream owners, and designing solutions that align data latency and refresh frequency with business needs.
Own the portfolio of data products, datasets, semantic models, and analytics deliverables, ensuring each is documented, well-understood, and fit for the business question it answers.
Define and own the standard for what a Gold-layer data product must satisfy to be AI-ready, distinguishing analytics-grade from model-training-grade, with explicit criteria covering completeness, label integrity, statistical consistency, and lineage traceability.

3. Data governance & quality:
Design and operate the data governance operating model, data ownership, stewardship, quality standards, business glossary, and metric definitions.
Embed data quality gates into Medallion layer promotion, making quality a precondition of Bronze-to-Gold progression, with measurable thresholds and clear remediation paths.
Own data lineage visibility across the platform so business users can trace the provenance of every number they rely on, end-to-end from source to dashboard.
Lead the technical evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise data catalogue tooling, including integration with Unity Catalog and the platform metadata layer.
Embed appropriate data handling, validation, and audit-trail practices for regulated data domains, partnering with Quality, Regulatory, and Legal to ensure compliance requirements are met by design.
Establish data quality measurement as a managed practice, KPIs, dashboards, periodic review, and accountability with data owners.

4. Team leadership & capability development:
Lead, hire, and develop the D&A team, Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, BI Developers, and Business Analysts, sequencing hires in alignment with the platform roadmap and delivery demand.
Define and evolve the role design, skills profile, and career framework for the team within the broader Data & AI CoE structure.
Set the team's performance culture: clear ownership, high engineering standards, fast feedback, continuous learning, and documentation as a team discipline.
Coach and develop team members directly, identifying high-potential individuals, investing in their technical and leadership growth, and building bench strength across roles.
Manage team capacity and allocation across the platform roadmap and business delivery demand, ensuring focus stays on high-value work aligned to strategic priorities.
Set the engineering craft culture, code review, design review, pairing, and shared technical standards, that lifts the technical quality of all team output.

5. Business partnership & vendor engagement:
Serve as the senior D&A point of contact for business function leadership, translating business data needs into platform and delivery priorities.
Build credibility with business stakeholders through reliable, consistent delivery, data products that are well-understood, well-documented, and match business expectations.
Communicate proactively on platform status, delivery commitments, risks, and trade-offs, ensuring stakeholders have a current view and surfacing issues early.
Represent D&A in cross-functional planning forums, ensuring the data foundation perspective is present in enterprise architecture, application, and AI investment decisions.
