<p><h4>Job description</h4>
<p>Employee will be part of the deployment pool and will be required to support deployments to various CONUS/OCONUS locations, as required. This position will require the member to be flexible in the support of assigned deployment/work schedules.</p>
<p>Member will perform and inspect organizational and intermediate level maintenance and modifications on RPA systems and support equipment, as required. This position requires an individual that can apply basic technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting Air Force technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals/instructions or similar documents through the usage of test equipment/instruments to affect repairs.</p>
<p>Member will inspect, service, repair, and overhaul aircraft, aircraft engines, and other critical components to ensure airworthiness. Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, landing gear, power plants/trains, fuel systems, and functional components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, rivet guns, and drills.</p>
<p>Inspect and repair power plant malfunctions, including cracked components, oil leaks, etc.; diagnose malfunctions, isolate causes, and correct breaks; test engine operations, use test equipment to locate source of malfunction(s). Replace/repair damaged components and remove engine/major components from aircraft, using hoist or other lifting devices; disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects; repair/replace defective engine components and reassemble and install engines in aircraft; adjust, repair, or replace instruments, ADP flight controls, electrical/electronics, fuel/oil systems and associated aircraft accessories.</p>
<p>Perform aircraft services to include engine flushing/cleaning, parts lubrication, and required maintenance checks. May specialize in repair and modification of engines, structural components, precision repair, functional spare parts, and assemblies. Recommend revisions to maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and ensure quality workmanship.</p>
<p>USAF equivalent position is Aircraft Mechanic Apprentice.</p>
<h4>Essential responsibilities:</h4>

<li>Performs all daily launch/recovery duties in support of operational requirements.</li>
<li>Applies logic and good judgment, understands basic technical order diagrams and procedures, and uses test equipment for analysis of airframes, engines, flight controls, pneudraulic, fuel, electrical/electronic systems, and problems.</li>
<li>Supports aircraft utilization and maintenance activity schedules. Maintains accurate parts inventory during all maintenance activities. Performs maintenance and repair tasks and ensures their successful completion.</li>
<li>Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft equipment, engines, and sub-systems to ensure serviceability. Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, landing gear, power plants, fuel systems (including tanks and fuel/metering control systems), and functional components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, rivet gun, drills, and other tools.</li>

<h4>Minimum requirements:</h4>

<p><h4>Essential responsibilities:</h4>
<p>The designee is responsible for maintaining situational awareness of airfield activities and overall responsibility for AMOPS section while on duty to provide a safe, efficient, and effective airfield environment for aircraft operations. The designee performs airfield inspections and checks for safety and compliance with planning and design criteria. Plans, organizes, and directs airfield activities to include airfield construction/repairs, airfield driving program, ice/snow removal operations, bird/wildlife control, etc. Procures, maintains, and produces information on safe operation of aircraft through the national and international airspace system such as flight information publications, aeronautical charts and maps, NOTAM, local airfield and navigational aid status, and weather information. Reconcile inventory, work-in-progress, production, consumption, overhead, purchase-price, and cost-of-sales balances between the ERP subledgers, operational records, and general ledger. Investigate unexplained or unusual balances, negative stock, inactive production orders, abnormal movements, interface errors, and unsupported manual adjustments, and ensure timely correction. Prepare complete working papers, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting evidence for management review, internal control, external audit, and statutory requirements.</p><p><strong>Manufacturing Variance and Performance Analysis</strong> Analyze material price, usage, mix, yield, labor, energy, overhead, efficiency, volume, and production variances against standard cost, budget, forecast, and prior periods. Work with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Procurement to identify the operational causes of unfavorable variances and monitor agreed corrective actions. Prepare cost and margin reports by product, product family, batch, production line, cost center, customer, or channel where reliable data is available. Identify cost trends, loss drivers, low-margin products, abnormal consumption, inefficient resource use, and other opportunities for cost reduction or profitability improvement.</p><p><strong>Inventory Valuation and Stock Control</strong> Support cycle counts and annual physical inventories across raw materials, packaging, spare parts, work in progress, finished goods, and other relevant stock categories. Investigate book-to-physical differences, validate approved inventory adjustments, and help strengthen controls over receipts, issues, transfers, returns, production consumption, and finished-goods reporting. Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, expired, contaminated, and off-specification items and prepare appropriate valuation or provision analysis in accordance with approved policy.
