Our Mission is to Simplify Life. We simplify and automate complex decision-making for customer-centric industries, including Utilities, Financial Services, Logistics, and Government, that drive the world's economies. We are looking for a technically dominant, operationally rigorous Director of Emerging Technology to lead our EmTech engineering team in Jordan. You will own the full engineering mandate of our Emerging Technology practice, setting the standard for how we architect, build, and deliver solutions across low-code enterprise platforms, microservices, and modern cloud-native stacks. You will lead highly skilled engineers building on complex, production-grade systems. Your technical depth matches theirs: you can engage in deep architectural debates, evaluate trade-offs with precision, and make decisions that hold up under production pressure. Your credibility is built on expertise, not title. Technical mastery is only half the mandate. You are the anchor of the EmTech team , absorbing external complexity and translating it into calm, structured direction. You build a culture of accountability, equitable performance, and consistent delivery excellence, where merit is the only currency. You operate on the same clear sequence: What , then How , then Who . Core Mindset & Traits Technically Credible. You can architect on a whiteboard, debug in a terminal, and evaluate an estimate with the fluency of someone who has shipped for years. Credibility is the foundation of your authority. Mission-Oriented. Driven by outcomes and measurable impact. Pressure Absorber. When urgency hits, your team feels a clear plan and steady direction. Empathetic and Consistent. You invest deeply in your people, and you hold a consistent bar for everyone. Standards apply equally, and fairness is the foundation of trust. Data-Informed. Dashboards, defect rates, and deployment logs: the numbers speak. Operator, Not a Theorist. u200b Forged in live delivery: systems scaled, teams built, deadlines met. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence Hands-on technical oversight across the EmTech portfolio: Mendix (or equivalent), microservices, APIs, cloud-native stacks. Personally engage in architecture reviews, estimates, and technical decisions; ensure honest, rigorous commitments. Drive code quality standards, technical debt management, and design review practices. Lead evaluation and adoption of emerging tech (AI/ML, intelligent automation), separating hype from production-ready capability. Establish engineering KPIs: velocity, defect density, deployment frequency, MTTR. EmTech Team Leadership & Culture Serve as the senior engineering leader for the team, with clarity and full executive backing. Act as the strategic buffer between external pressure and your engineers. Enforce transparent, consistent engineering practices from sprint ceremonies to quarterly reviews. Establish a structured communication cadence with global leadership. Delivery Execution & Performance Management Own delivery accountability across all EmTech programs, on time, on budget, on spec. Implement rigorous delivery governance: sprint discipline, milestone tracking, dependency and risk management. Run data-driven delivery reviews against objective metrics. Address performance gaps with speed and fairness. Performance-First, Equitable Culture Promotions, bonuses, and assignments earned through measurable contribution, never tenure, relationships, or lobbying. Anchor evaluations to objective, documented criteria visible before the review period. Build career development frameworks with clear competency milestones. Ensure diverse technical talent thrives through a system that rewards capability and eliminates favoritism. Engineering Talent Development Mentor and develop engineering leads and senior engineers into the next generation of technical leaders. Ensure every engineer has clarity on scope, priorities, and growth trajectory. Design rapid onboarding; build a learning culture that makes EmTech a destination for top regional talent.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education Bachelor's in CS, Software Engineering, or Information Systems (required); Master's (strongly preferred).

Technical Expertise Deep, hands-on experience with low-code enterprise platforms, specifically Mendix or an equivalent platform (OutSystems, Power Platform at enterprise scale).
