Job Summary

The Software Deployment and QA Senior Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless deployment and high-quality assurance of software applications. This position involves leading the deployment processes, overseeing quality assurance practices, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in software deployment, quality assurance methodologies, and team leadership.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Health Systems and Applications Unit is dedicated to developing, implementing, and maintaining innovative software solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare services. This unit focuses on creating robust health information systems, logistics management information systems, electronic medical records (EMR), telemedicine platforms, and other applications that streamline healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices, the unit ensures that all systems are secure, user-friendly, and compliant with healthcare regulations. The team collaborates closely with healthcare professionals, IT specialists, and stakeholders to tailor solutions that meet the unique needs of the healthcare environment, ultimately aiming to support better health management and patient care.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities 

Software Deployment and Implementation (70%)

  • Transition Planning: Under the guidance of the Head of Department (HoD) and in close collaboration with the IT department, the candidate will lead transition planning efforts. This includes testing, installation, and staff training to ensure high-quality data integrity is produced and maintained.
  • Global Software Implementation: The candidate will oversee software implementation in International Medical Corps' missions worldwide, as well as in any external entities the organization chooses to engage with for implementation.
  • Progress Monitoring and User Support: The candidate will monitor the progress of system implementations and act as the primary point of contact for any user concerns or queries.
  • Compliance Management: Working under the supervision of the HoD and in close collaboration with the medical department, the candidate will ensure the organization maintains appropriate compliance with privacy, security, and confidentiality policies and procedures that align with current organizational practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Implementation Plan Development: In collaboration with field teams and the Medical Department, the candidate will develop an implementation plan prior to the program rollout.
  • User Training Resources: The candidate will create comprehensive user manuals and self-training modules for the Pharmacy and Health Information Management systems to facilitate user education and system adoption.

Coordination with Partners, Subject Matter Experts, and others: (30%)

  • Test Planning and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure software quality and functionality. This includes manual and automated testing procedures.
  • Quality Assurance Strategy: Define and implement QA strategies, methodologies, and best practices to ensure the highest standards of software quality.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies. Work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Performance Testing: Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to ensure software can handle expected levels of activity and identify potential performance bottlenecks.
  • Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure new code changes do not negatively impact existing functionalities.
  • Automation Development: Design and develop automated testing scripts to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that software products comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, test results, and defect reports. Provide clear and concise reporting to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure that quality standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest QA trends, tools, and technologies. Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes and tools to enhance software quality and efficiency.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior QA staff, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Coordinate and support UAT activities, ensuring that end-users are able to validate the functionality and performance of the software.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to software quality and work with relevant teams to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Release Management Support: Collaborate with release management to ensure smooth deployments and to verify that all quality assurance activities are completed prior to software release.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy is Required.
  • Excellent English is Required.
  • At least 3 years’ experience with health software quality assurance is Required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with health software deployment is Required.
  • Proven knowledge of health informatics is Required.
