The GIZ Jordan Project “Partnership Approaches for Development-oriented Vocational Training and Labour Migration” is seeking to hire a “Junior Vocational Training and Labour Market Advisor” based in Jordan- for full-time base employment.
The PAM project is implemented by GIZ on behalf of the BMZ. It promotes international, regular, and safe migration by fostering partnerships between skilled crafts organizations, TVET providers in partner countries, and German companies.
The program is running a training and mobility scheme in various skilled craft occupations in Jordan, in collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Labor and the Vocational Training Corporation. Throughout the project, up to 300 participants will benefit from these activities.
Qualifications and specialist knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, administration/ management and any other related field
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience and relevant expertise in project management
- Very good organizational and networking skills
- Professional experience in the field of migration as well as cooperating with internal and ex-ternal partners
- Knowledge in M&E, PR and communication
- Advising, empathy, communication, cooperation and methodological skills
- Commitment, team spirit, reliability, gender competence and intercultural understanding
- Very good digital competencies (MS Office: MS Teams, Power Point etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
- Counselling skills
- Excellent Arabic and English language skills / German language skills are desirable
Main Responsibilities
- Advise applicants on apprenticeship opportunities available in Germany regarding requirements, working conditions and benefits.
- Provide guidance on career readiness, including CV and motivation letter writing, as well as job interview preparation.
- Prepare and conduct job placement trainings for individuals interested in regular migration for vocational training purposes, including intercultural preparatory measures such as language courses and technical training.
- Offer online guidance through available platforms and portals, such as “Make it in Germany.”
- Provide advice at partners institutions and offer guidance to individuals interested in apprenticeship in the Germen skilled crafts sector across the country.
- Participate in processes related to data collection, maintaining contacts, building networks, and ensuring the quality of any evaluation missions.
- Set up, structure, and maintain the knowledge management system, and analyse results and lessons learned.
- Conduct field visits to beneficiaries in the training locations to ensure their satisfaction, and draft detailed field visit reports.
- Support team members in the preparation and organization of project events.
- Classify and ensure the quality of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) data.
Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description.
