Digital Media Analyst

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Digital Media Analyst for the “Strengthening Civil Society and Media Systems (Sawt) Activity” will focus on monitoring and analyzing both digital media and social media content produced by Sawt-supported media partners, platforms and individuals. They will also work to analyze digital metrics and provide capacity-building support to Sawt partners, aimed at improving the overall effectiveness and reach of their digital media productions and/or social media campaigns. Additionally, the Analyst will be responsible for drafting periodic reports which summarize partners’ content production activities, and sharing key findings and data with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and analyze digital media and social media content produced by Sawt-supported media partners, platforms and individuals.
  • Share timely recommendations and provide tailored guidance to partners for improving content reach and audience engagement, based on how audiences and followers respond to ongoing content dissemination / campaigns.
  • Conduct site visits and/or offer in-house capacity building support to digital media partners, as needed.
  • Analyze social media post metrics and assess the impact of individual posts / social media campaigns produced by Sawt implementing partners.
  • Monitor progress over time associated with digital media-related project indicators, and draft periodic (weekly, quarterly, and annual) report sections (providing quantitative and qualitative input, to help summarize activities and share key findings / data with the Media and MERL teams.
  • Support the Communications Team by helping to identify possible impact stories and capture testimonials from digital media partners and stakeholders.
  • Any other related duties assigned by the supervisor to ensure program success.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media and/or Analytics, Journalism / Media Studies, Communications, Information Technology, or any related field.

Required Qualifications

  • A least 3 years of experience in digital media production, journalism, communications, digital / social media marketing, research, or another related field.
  • Knowledge of local media and/or digital content production in Jordan.
  • Familiarity with tracking and/or analyzing key social media metrics.
  • Direct experience managing social media platforms, creating short form videos, producing podcasts and/or other digital media content will all be considered a distinct advantage.
  • Proved experience in sharing technical skills and knowledge with others, through capacity-building activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with USG- and/or other donor-supported projects will also be considered a plus.

Skills

  • Outstanding writing and editing as well as data visualization skills.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Professional-level fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff and project partners.

Ability and permission to work and reside in Jordan without Internews Sponsorship.
