Job Summary:
The General Manager will lead and oversee all functions of the chemical manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient production, regulatory compliance, and strategic business development. This role is responsible for delivering financial performance, optimizing operations, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational & Production Oversight :
• Manage end-to-end operations of the chemical plant, including production, maintenance, safety, supply chain, and logistics.
• Ensure production meets quality specifications, customer requirements, and delivery timelines.
• Implement and sustain lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement programs.
• Maintain plant equipment and infrastructure, ensuring operational reliability and efficiency.
Health, Safety, Environment, and Compliance :
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards, chemical handling protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Develop and enforce safety programs, emergency response procedures, and sustainability initiatives.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure all certifications, licenses, and inspections are up to date.
Strategic & Commercial Leadership :
• Set strategic goals and oversee execution of the business plan aligned with market and client demands.
• Identify and develop new markets, product lines, or strategic partnerships to expand business footprint.
• Manage key customer relationships, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
Financial & Performance Management :
• Prepare and manage annual budgets, operational KPIs, and financial forecasts.
• Control production costs, analyze variances, and implement cost-reduction strategies.
• Deliver performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development :
• Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, finance, HR, and technical staff.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous development.
• Attract, retain, and develop talent to ensure organizational capability.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Bachelor’s degree in Business administration ; MBA or Master’s is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing
