Trucking Dispatcher

Company Overview

Carpathian Way is a trucking company based in Chicago, USA. We run our own trucks and drivers across the United States, and we are building a new dispatch team in Jordan that works directly with our operations in Chicago.

About the Role

This is a real dispatch job, not a call center. You will manage a group of drivers, book loads with US freight brokers, track trucks, solve problems on the road, and keep our customers updated.

You will be on the phone with Americans all day. Every load you book and every problem you solve directly affects the company's revenue.

What You Will Do

Plan and book loads for your assigned drivers using load boards and broker relationships.

Negotiate rates with US brokers by phone and email.

Track trucks, monitor pickups and deliveries, and handle delays, breakdowns, and detention.

Keep drivers informed and accountable, and escalate issues to Chicago management on time.

Enter loads, rate confirmations, and updates in our TMS and communicate by email and phone.

Bill accessorials (detention, layover, TONU) and make sure nothing is left off the invoice.

Working Hours

Fixed shift covering the US Central Time business day.

Example: 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM Amman time, Monday-Friday.

Weekend on-call is shared across the team.

Work Location

Work from home for now.

We plan to open an office in Amman within the next year, and this team will move into it.

What We Need From You

Fluent spoken English. You will be tested before any interview. If you can't hold a fast, clear phone conversation with an American broker, this job is not for you.

Written English good enough for emails to brokers and customers.

Experience in US trucking dispatch, freight brokerage, or logistics coordination is strongly preferred. We will train the right person from scratch if they are sharp and reliable.

Comfortable with pressure, multitasking, and making decisions alone when something goes wrong at 11 PM.

Reliable internet, a quiet workspace, and your own computer with headset.

Honest, direct, and able to take feedback.

What We Offer

$900–$1,100 per month, paid in USD, depending on experience.

Performance bonus program on top of base pay.

Full paid training on US trucking, our systems, and our procedures.

Long-term position with room to grow into team lead as the Jordan team expands.

Direct access to company ownership in Chicago, not a layer of middle management.

Employment Type

Independent contractor agreement with a US company, paid monthly in USD.

Hiring Process

Apply on Bayt with your CV in English.

All applicants receive an online assessment (English and situational judgment) within a few days.

Only candidates who pass the assessment are invited to a short introductory video call with our Chicago team.

Skills

Dispatching

Logistics

Freight

Transportation

Customer Service

Negotiation

English

TMS

Load Boards

Trucking

Recent developments in several countries, including proposals or decisions to lower the minimum age of criminal responsibility (MACR), underscore the need for current, accessible and comparable legal information. In other contexts, the MACR remains below international standards or is subject to exceptions, while the age of majority and related legal thresholds are not consistently documented. Previous global fact sheets are no longer regularly updated. The consultancy will support the development of a global Legal Atlas covering all countries and territories for which authoritative legal information can be verified. The Atlas will document the statutory age of majority and MACR, including exceptions, differentiated thresholds and relevant implementation provisions, and assess alignment with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and General Comment No. 24. Its immediate advocacy objective is to promote a MACR of at least 14 years, without exceptions that permit children below that age to be held criminally responsible. The Legal Atlas will be designed as an accessible, searchable and updateable knowledge product, drawing on the format and functionality of existing legal atlases on child marriage, street-connected children and civil registration and vital statistics. Its structure should allow additional justice-for-children variables to be incorporated in future phases, including access to free legal aid, diversion and non-custodial measures. Analyse each jurisdiction against the relevant international standards, clearly distinguishing verified law from interpretation and flagging information gaps. Prepare country profiles and validation packages; coordinate review by UNICEF country and COEs; maintain a comments and resolution log. Incorporate validated comments and finalize the global legal dataset and accompanying narrative content. Develop the information architecture, user journeys, wireframes and visual design for the Legal Atlas in line with UNICEF branding, accessibility and usability requirements. Configure and populate the online database, including search, filter, comparison, download and update functions, and provide administrator guidance. Conduct quality assurance and user testing, correct identified issues and prepare the final launch-ready package.
