Communication &Networks Specialist

The “Portfolio Management Unit in GIZ Jordan” is seeking to hire a “Communication & Networks Specialist” for full-time base employment.

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

  • Minimum is a bachelor’s degree in communication, computer sciences, digital marketing, economics, management, and any other related field
  • At least 7 years of professional experience and relevant expertise in digital transformation, communication or at the intersection of both areas.
  • Experience with previous change management processes is an asset.
  • You are a strategic and creative thinker who enjoys change and change management. 
  • You are curious about new trends in the space of digital technology and have a basic technical understanding and a good feel for trends and developments in the digital sector. 
  • You have strong analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. 
  • You enjoy communicating, express yourself purposefully and enjoy presenting and moderating. 
  • You are no stranger to digital communication (LinkedIn) and communication strategies as well as corporate communication. 
  • You have knowledge of project management tools and techniques. 
  • You are a team player. 
  • You have a basic knowledge of the GDPR and general understanding of Information Security. 
  • You have good prioritization skills, to balance key priorities. 
  • You are competent in both written and verbal English language 
  • You have advanced SharePoint and workflow skills. 
  • Technical knowledge in dealing with OpenText-DMS and IDA / Office 365 as well as organizational knowledge of the organizational structure and the processes on site are an advantage. 

Main Responsibilities:

Communication and Digital Transformation 

  • Coordinate the workstream Networks and Communication under the Joint Delivery Initiative. 
  • Support the organizational development process towards an integrated services structure in the field of networks and communication. 
  • Coordinate the communication strategy process and develop and roll-out a digital communication strategy. 
  • Collaborate with a team of communicators in the re-organization of portfolio level communication tasks and service provision in communication. 
  • Support and advise the technical portfolio on digital transformation topics including the identification of digital technologies to promote sustainable development. 

Digital Partner Advisory Services 

  • First point of contact at the country office for digital topics. 
  • Coordinates with HQ about digital practices and communicates them to end-users. 
  • Provides feedback to HQ about local practices in the field of digital services. 
  • Advises end-user on new tools and platforms available in GIZ. 
  • Communication of recommendations and guidance on digitalization from HQ to end-users. 
  • Provides consultation to end-user on local privacy laws. 
  • Coordinates with the Information Security Officer on common areas related to ISMS. 
  • Interface towards relevant units in GIZ including the Data Lab, Data Service Centre, Digits, Global IT Services. 
  • Provides onboarding of new staff on all things digital. 
  • Consulting on the compliant use of the central document management systems (OpenText, DMS/Microsoft 365) for end-user. 
  • First point of contact relating to information that is subject to retention for end user. 
  • First point of contact for basic data protection, as well as the data protection regulations on-site and communicates this comprehensibly for end-user. 
  • Advising on and adjusting GIZ Social Media guidelines. 
  • Strengthening the capacity for digital innovation. 
  • Works closely with ISO Officer and IT professionals, to ensure IT security and data protection.
