Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, landing gear, power plants, fuel systems (including tanks and fuel/metering control systems), and functional components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, rivet gun, drills, and other tools.</li> <li>Inspects and repairs power plant (engine) malfunctions, including cracked components, oil leaks, etc. Diagnoses malfunctions, isolates causes and corrects breaks. Tests engine operations, using testing equipment to locate source(s) of malfunction. Replaces and repairs damaged components, uses hand tools, gauges, and test equipment to complete repairs.</li> <li>Removes engine and major components from aircraft equipment, using hoist or other lifting devices. Disassembles and inspects parts for wear, warping, or other defects. Repairs and replaces defective engine components and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.</li> <li>Adjusts, repairs, or replaces instruments, flight control, electrical/electronic, fuel/oil systems and aircraft accessories. Performs aircraft and vehicle services, including engine wash/cleaning, parts lubrication, and maintenance checks.</li> <li>May service engines and airframe components at flight line operations making repairs, short of overhaul, required to ensure aircraft safe operating conditions. May specialize in repair and modification of engines, structural components, precision repair, functional spare parts, and assemblies.</li> <li>Must be able to work with little-to-no supervision.</li> <li>Performs all other duties as assigned as requested.</li> </ul> <h4>Minimum Requirements</h4> <ul> <li>Must have high school diploma or have completed relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum.</li> <li>Minimum of one year of actual aircraft mechanic maintenance experience required.</li> <li>Must have basic knowledge of basic and complex mechanical maintenance and repair.</li> <li>Must possess basic knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft mechanical maintenance.</li> <li>Must know theory and principles of operation of engines, accessories and components, theory of flight and electronic flight controls, and have a basic understanding of applicable systems.</li> <li>Must be able to inspect and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.</li> <li>Must achieve a passing grade in all required courses/certifications for continued employment, as needed.</li> <li>Employee must meet all OCONUS deployment criteria, to include pre-deployment medical screening, as a condition of employment.</li> <li>Must be able to deploy to forward locations (other countries) as directed by the government.</li> <li>Must be able to lift, carry and/or wear military issued equipment in excess of 50 pounds for extended periods.</li> <li>Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.</li> <li>Must have had an active secret US government clearance within the last 12 months. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a secret clearance.</li> <li>Must be able to maintain required DoD security clearance commensurate with the assigned duties during employment.</li> <li>Must have current/active state issued driver’s license.</li> <li>Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid flight-line government driver’s license.</li> <li>Must have valid U.S. passport with a minimum of two years remaining with at least two facing pairs (four total) of blank visa pages.</li> <li>Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated with booster. Accommodations may be available under limited circumstances.</li> </ul> <h4>Preferred Qualifications</h4> <ul> <li>Associate degree in a relevant career field.</li> <li>Licensed by the FAA as an airframe and powerplant mechanic.</li> <li>RPA deployment experience.</li> <li>Prior experience as a defense contractor.</li> <li>Aircraft mechanic experience within the last 10 years.</li> <li>MQ-9 experience as an aircraft mechanic.</li> <li>MQ-9 aircraft composite repair/replacement experience.</li> </ul></p><p></p>
