<p >Médecins Sans Frontières is running a reconstructive surgery program in Amman, which opened in 2006, is giving access to reconstructive surgery (orthopedic, plastic, and maxillo-facial) to war-wounded people providing comprehensive health care, MSF aims at identifying and referring patients from neighboring countries (Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and other countries with conflicts) then ensuring their medical follow-up after discharge.</p>
<p >Médecins Sans Frontières Reconstructive Surgery program and the Country Office in Amman are seeking a <strong>(1) Social Worker for a Full-Time contract.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Dimension of post</strong></p>
<p>Reconstructive Surgery Hospital with an average of 520 admissions per year, over 1000 surgeries annually, 50 surgical beds and 69 rehabilitation beds, 2 OTs for orthopedic, maxillo-facial and plastic reconstructive surgeries, OPD with an average 550 consultations / month, physiotherapy and psychosocial department, and Antimicrobial Resistance activity (Stewardship, IPC and Micro laboratory) within the hospital.</p>
<h3>SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES</h3>
<p>Carry out all activities aimed at addressing individuals’ social critical needs (related to assistance and/or protection), promoting their overall well-being and autonomy through social support, and strengthening com-munity-based social interventions (depending on the scope of the social work component in the project). These activities should consider the social determinants of health to ensure a holistic approach to people’s needs and to uphold the well-being, safety, agency and dignity of MSF patients.</p>
<h3>ACCOUNTABILITIES</h3>
<ul>
<li>Conduct social assessments of service users’ situation to identify vulnerabilities and social critical needs including legal, protection, shelter/housing, financial/vocational, food security, and access to other critical services beyond the project scope.</li>
<li>Support the provision of holistic care to service users, by actively coordinating with the other members of the MSF multidisciplinary team (especially medical and MHPSS).</li>
<li>Provide direct social support interventions to service users, facilitate safe referrals to vetted external services/actors to address social critical needs identified during assessment (assistance and protection), and ensure tailored follow up.</li>

UNHCR adopts a rights and community-based approach to address the protection needs of children, with a strong emphasis on inclusion within national child protection, child friendly procedures and working with other sectors to protect children including education. Child protection is recognized as global organizational priority for UNHCR. Dedicated child protection positions are needed to provide technical support to improve UNHCR's operational capacity to deliver effective protection to children, adolescents and youth of concern.<br>The Senior Child Protection Associate is a member of the protection team in an Office.
