Role: Project Coordinator – GBV Specialist
Project: Addressing Sexual Harassment in Public Transportation Location: Amman, Jordan

Section A: Background

Section B: Project Overview
This position is part of a project addressing the pervasive issue of sexual harassment and violence against
women and girls (VAW/G) in public transportation systems in Amman. The project collaborates with stakeholders, including the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), Land Transportation Regulatory Commission (LTRC), Public Security Directorate (PSD), women-led CBOs, and private transportation companies. It seeks to ensure safer, inclusive public transportation for marginalized women, including
refugees and those from lower socioeconomic groups, by implementing anti-harassment policies, training, awareness campaigns, and technological solutions.
Section C:Role Purpose
The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of project activities. The role requires expertise in GBV prevention and response, with a focus on addressing sexual harassment in public transportation. The Coordinator will ensure alignment with organizational strategies and donor requirements, fostering collaboration between stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Section D: Scope of Work
Project Management:
- Develop detailed work plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with project teams and
partners.
- Ensure timely and effective implementation of project activities, including anti-harassment training, community engagement, and awareness campaigns.
- Coordinate the development and deployment of a reporting app for harassment in public transportation.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Act as the primary liaison between organisations, government entities (GAM, LTRC, PSD), private transportation companies, and women-led CBOs.
