The designee coordinates with various controllers and personnel to relay information which pertains to the aircraft and in the interest of safety of flight including emergency information. The designee will be familiar with radar or control tower operations and apply the required separation of aircraft. The individual is responsible for vehicles and personnel operating on the airfield when operating in a control tower environment.</p> <p>Along with controlling aircraft, the designee must be able to process flight plans and supervise approach, departure, and arrival procedures. The designee will have a full working knowledge of control tower operations and flight planning and a fundamental knowledge of RADAR/Manual approach control operations when operating in a control tower.
