<p>SRD Center is seeking a French-Language Research and Editing Support Consultant for an anticipated international assignment focused on migration governance, Africa Europe cooperation and preparation of a strategic policy publication. The consultant will provide specialised French-language research, editorial and quality-assurance support to the Lead Migration Governance Expert and the wider research team. Result of Service<br>The Research Associate in the Relief and Social Services Department (RSSD) will contribute to the Camp Origins Project, a research project that is part of the Archive Initiative and premised on documenting the establishment of the Agency's recognized refugee camps across five fields of operation. The Research Associate will conduct archival research into the establishment of Palestine refugee camps, prepare archival material for legal clearance and apply approved redactions, and produce accurate, evidence-based written accounts suitable for institutional and external use.<br> Work Location<br>Amman, Jordan<br> Expected duration<br>12 months, renewable upon satisfactory performance evaluation and funds availability.<br> Duties and Responsibilities<br>The Research Associate will support RSSD’s project on the historical establishment of camps through archival research. This initiative is aligned with the operational objectives of the Agency’s Environmental Sustainability Policy (ESP), Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF), and encompasses environmental mainstreaming, improved energy monitoring, enhanced energy efficiency, climate action and the integration of renewable energy at Agency installations across its fields of operation. The SMART Project has developed a comprehensive Learning and Development (L&D) workstream on environmental sustainability and now enters a critical transition phase from design and development to implementation, scaling, and institutionalization. To these ends, the present consultancy is designed to ensure that: • Environmental sustainability training translates into behavior change, • Staff are able to better perform in real operations, • ESP and ESMF requirements are understood and instituted, and • Sustainability becomes embedded in UNRWA systems, structures, procedures and decision-making. 2. In either case, an initial degree (bachelor or equivalent) plus two additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a post-graduate degree. • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in technical programme delivery incorporating training, capacity-building, or knowledge-transfer components, with a strong emphasis on practical training in engineering, energy, or environmental sustainability, including at least two years of experience related to environmental sustainability and renewable systems. • At least two years of relevant international experience outside of the candidate’s home country, country of which the candidate has citizenship, or a country in which the candidate maintains permanent residence. • Demonstrated experience delivering hands-on, field-oriented training for technical staff, including the facilitation of practical exercises, on-site or applied learning sessions, and the use of real-world case studies and operational scenarios. • Sound knowledge of environmental sustainability and engineering concepts, including climate change, energy efficiency, natural resource management, circular economy, pollution prevention, waste minimization, sustainable procurement, and environmental reporting frameworks, with the ability to link these concepts to practical field applications. • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, particularly technical and field-based staff. • Experience in delivering training linked to infrastructure projects, energy audits, or renewable energy installations is highly desirable.<br> Languages<br>Excellent oral and written communication skills in Arabic are highly desirable.<br> Additional Information<br>The Learning and Development Consultant (Environmental Sustainability) will report to the SMART Project Coordinator. <p>Supervise and provide guidance and support to junior staff in areas such as training and development. Ensure adherence to SOPs and GLP requirements in analytical research development, validation and all stability related activities. Finally review and approve all reports generated by subordinates to be submitted to the documentation team. Plan, organize, and supervise weekly and monthly Analytical Research/Stability activities to ensure timely execution and achievement of departmental objectives. Review, approve, and maintain departmental documentation, including SOPs, analytical method development, validation/verification reports, stability protocols and reports, and laboratory records. Prepare and review drug substance and drug product specifications, justification reports, and regulatory submission documents in accordance with applicable guidelines. Manage analytical and stability programs, including supplier qualification (DMF evaluation), pharmacopeia updates, stability studies, stability chamber monitoring, and maintenance coordination. Lead investigations of OOS results and technical issues by conducting troubleshooting and root cause analysis and implementing appropriate corrective actions. Supervise, train, and coach team members, providing technical guidance and supporting analytical activities and experiments as required. Review and verify stability batches, labeling, documentation, quantities, and logbook entries to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Ensure compliance with GLP, GMP, SOPs, Health & Safety requirements, and participate in internal and external regulatory inspections. Coordinate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely communication, issue resolution, and successful project execution.
